We have stayed here several times over the past two years since our son moved to the area. However this time, the conditions have drastically gone down hill. We were room 101 and the room had dirty floors, the walls around the toilet and sink had splashes and drips on them and there was clear mildew and mold growing on the baseboards, and the whole place could use a deep clean- dust piles on top of the ice bucket, lights etc. it smelled musty like there had been a flood. I don’t know if we will be back after this- the place was full so no real options to move to a different room. Your claim to being a filming location on Netflix can only take you so far if you aren’t keeping up with the Maintenance! Bummed because it was so cute when we stayed here starting two years ago and it’s just gotten more expensive and worse. Two thumbs down.

Pretty location, but fell short of expectations

Very pretty location right on a creek, and convenient enough for a Charleston weekend. Exterior of motel was neat and well cared-for. Bedding and mattresses seemed fairly new, slept well. Noise was minimal, which was very much appreciated. However, some changes need to be made here. We actually moved to a different room because of yet other issues, so what I’m highlighting here was noted in both rooms - it wasn’t just a single room issue. - Maintenance should attend to the poor finishing in the bathrooms, and also repair outlets above nightstand so they actually work. - Housekeeping should attend to the filthy floors and fixtures in the bath and vanity areas. In one picture, note how dirty my clean white socks were while walking around my room for only a few minutes after my shower before I went to sleep. - Management should consider outfitting each room with 1) more substantial door lock since the only locks that worked were the key card mechanism and a swing bar lock, there was no interior deadbolt, 2) actual blackout window treatments in addition to the plantation shutters, 3) sealing gaps around exterior room door, and 4) actual hanging space instead of just a wooden towel rack to hang up towels and no space for hanging anything else. - Update motel description to indicate breakfast is continental-type, not a full breakfast.
