The host was very responsive and the kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. The chain on the toilet was broken, so we had to flush manually. The host did offer to fix it within an hour of us reporting it, which was good, but didnât work with our schedule. I do think the price for this property is a little high, given the condition of the floors. Also, Iâm not sure the bed is actually a queen; it felt more like a full.
Central location with responsive host.Youâre staying in an older home, so expect noisy floorboards and stairs. The interior is well maintained and kitchen felt clean. The memory foam mattress is a bit worn down, so you have to find your spot or move a lot through the night (we were achy after first night). Most of the blinds wonât open, leaving the downstairs fairly dark.It was a great last minute find after the holidays.Off street parking was a big plus.
My niece and I enjoyed our stay at this cottage! The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved the historical nature of the cottage. Check out Bad Bunnies for coffee in the morning. And Vern's was a 10/10 for dinner!
House was very clean. Had all the amenities that I needed - except a baking sheet! Nice towels, linens. Quiet neighborhood. Older neighborhood, but felt very safe. Under two miles to the downtown Charleston area - I walked it. Very doable. My only recommendation would be to add a deadbolt lock to the kitchen door that opens to the outside. Would just feel a little more secure - or a latch on the inside maybe.Bathroom is downstairs, so you have to navigate stairs in the middle of the night, if youâre one of those people and thatâs a concern for you.Parking was great - right behind the cottage. Wouldnât hesitate to stay here again. Communication with owner was great. Responded very quickly to all questions.
We loved the location as we were within walking distance of much of what we had planned throughout downtown. The neighborhood is quiet and the apartment itself is cozy while offering plenty of space for two people to lounge in comfortably. As other reviews noted, the loft area does get warmer than the rest of the house, but the box fan provided made the nights comfortable for sleeping.
Property was as advertised. Of note, the remote for the TV is missing. But we were too busy to spend time watching anything. The kitchen was adequately supplied, with the one exception that there were no garbage bags. Overall it is a lovely property, typical of Charleston which has aged well. I would recommend this property to a couple who do not intend to hang out at the house but use it as a base to explore all the area has to offer.
The property was easy to access, and onsite parking off the street was great! We were close to restaurants, a great coffee shop (sightsee), and our friend who we were visiting. Highly recommend this property! Also the communication by YOURPAD was on point.
Everything was exactly as listed! We had a great three night stay in Charleston at this property, would definitely recommend to friends and will hopefully come back to stay soon!
This cottage has everything you need to enjoy a visit to Charleston and the surrounding areas. You can walk to a restaurant, little convenience store or drive to Charlestonâs attractions. We took our grandson to Charleston for his first visit and had a great time.
First, great communication with host, very responsive- neighborhood was very quiet and walkable, close to really great coffee places- Bad Rabbit - and restaurants- beach 25 minutes away. Cottage was very clean and towels super soft, bed comfortable- washing machine was a bonus- parking was well lit- highly recommend
Wonderful house, privacy and location, but a bit warm
The privacy, location, convenience of nearby stores and historic Charleston was very nice. It was a quiet, walkable neighborhood, so having a car was not necessary if you wanted to see the local shops and restaurants. The only complaint was that the bedroom on the upstairs floor got quite warm during the day, and the AC couldn't keep up. The ground floor was very cool and the air well circulated, but the upstairs gets several degrees warmer during the summer and can feel stuffy in the summer humidity and heat.
Old but kept up nicely. Everything work, bed was comfortable, all amenities you could ask for or need. Location was excellent, walking distance to everything!
Location was perfect, super walkable. Fuel Cantina and Holey City Bagels were conveniently close-by. Food was great everywhere we visited. Downtown Charleston including all attractions were within walking distance for us (could be a bit long for others who arenât walkers)âŠit was a beautiful, pleasant walk to and from. Charleston City Market, The Lost History of Black Charleston walking tour led by historian and educator Damon Fordham, and Folly Beach were among my favorite experiences. My friend enjoyed the wine complimentary of the Vrbo, which was a nice way to cap off our wonderful stay in Charleston. We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning. Oh and the mattress was super comfortable. We slept well.
