The house was great for our family Thanksgiving of 9. The family/kitchen area was big and open. The view of the lake is amazing. The kitchen is stocked with everything you can imagine. It is in a quiet area with no through traffic. Everyone enjoyed the pool table. The host went above and beyond on taking good care of us. We will definitely add this to our list of places to return

Incredible House on the Lake

We had a blast at this property and would definitely go back. So many water sports activities and the house had a great upstairs area for gatherings and downstairs for kids activities. Plenty of space with all the bedrooms and bathrooms too. Great place for family and friends to gather!

This was a great place for my large family and pets. We loved the dock and the beautiful views from the back deck. As Lake Norman is our annual family trip, we will be looking to re-book this home next year when we return.

We spent our family vacation at this lovely home! Dan and Sara were excellent hosts and very easy to communicate with and responsive to any needs we had. The house is stunning with gorgeous lake views and activities for all ages. We had a wonderful time! Highly recommend.

Had a great stay with family. Plenty of space for all inside and out. The dogs had a blast. Nice spot on lake, wish I booked stayed for more than a long weekend.

Great family trip

The property was perfect for our large group. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding on the lake. Beautiful views, lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Love the large kitchen and living area. The workout room was a nice bonus!

Thanksgiving Retreat

Great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay during Christmas week! The house was very clean. The great room/kitchen area is very spacious and comfortable for a large group to enjoy meals and family activities together.The kitchen had everything you would need to prepare meals. The views of Lake Norman are amazing! I would definitely recommend this property!

Wonderful memories

Our 3 families plus our 80-year old mom had such a wonderful stay. The goal was to enjoy time with each other and make lasting memories and this home was perfect! We found there to be plenty of room for our group, and appreciated all of the kitchen amenities, puzzles, and space. We hope to back again soon!

Oasis on Lake Norman

This home is a unique and beautiful place to stay with lakefront views and access. The layout of the home is perfect for privacy as well as unity in the spacious kitchen/living area. There are multiple opportunities to spend time outdoors, and the serenity is absolutely wonderful for reconnecting with family. We loved this home!

Family reunion for 3 families and grandchildren

Our families from age 70 to 3 months had a fantastic experience . Plenty of room for dining and hanging out. Bedrooms were in quiet zones for everyone to relax and kids to nap. Outdoor lake activities kayaking, paddle boards, and swimming were our favorites . Adults and kids joined in and had a blast!Our hosts were in touch throughout our stay and made sure we had everything we needed . We were sad to leave but left with great memories ! Will definitely be a place we will visit again! Thanks to our hosts for a beautiful home and wonderful time .

Wonderful Family Reunion!

Our family enjoyed 4 days at this beautiful home nestled in the trees along the banks of Lake Norman. There’s so much to compliment: the design of the home, the layout of the bedrooms, the large kitchen, the outside seating areas, the views from the large windows, and the dock with all the paddle boards and kayaks made this one of the most amazing vacation homes we have ever rented! Our thanks to the hosts and owner who were the best to work with- quick to respond to questions and very helpful! We also are so glad that we rented the owner’s boat- it was a huge bonus that was enjoyed by everyone in our family! We highly recommend Lake Norman Retreat and definitely want to return for another family gathering!

50th Anniversary celebration

The house and the setting on the lake could not have been better. Five families were very comfortable. The great room was large enough for all of us to be together indoors and lots of outdoor activities for all ages!

Stunning, serene and a great place to relax

The home is stunning. We appreciate the bedrooms being separated from the living areas. There is so much to do outside. Boating, fantastic dock, fire pit for making s’mores, lots of decks for relaxing. What a great place to recharge.

Just Perfect!

I hosted 10 Ladies for a retreat and it was the perfect space of serenity and tranquilty! Greater with floor to ceiling views of the lake everyday was the most peaceful way to start our day! Everyone had their own individual spaces as well as the perfect spaces for gathering! The layout is perfect to share meals, conversations, game night and movie night! Thank You Dan & Sara for your attentiveness and responsiveness! We can’t wait to return to this BEAUTIFUL property!

Lake Norman Family Thanksgiving gathering

The home is actually gorgeous. By far the best home we have rented. Very roomy, very comfortable. The kitchen is so large we had 18 family members that were able to sit and eat while enjoying each other. The view is breath taking. We loved the ability to work out and everyone loved shooting pool. The downstairs bar area allowed for drinks, tv, pool and even play music. It was too cold to enjoy the swimming, or the dock. The fireplace was so nice. I highly recommend any family looking for a great home stay here. We are considering renting this home again during the summer.

Beautiful property. Some issues.

On the positive side, this property is lovely, and the views are amazing. We enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle on the main part of the lake. Taking our pontoon boat out to the quiet parts of the river were lovely. The kitchen is well-stocked with essentials. The bedrooms are well-equipped, clean and comfortable. The drive has plenty of parking for multiple vehicles. All-in-all we enjoyed staying here. Still, since this was our second year at this property, we had expected changes to be made that we reported to the owner last year. Unfortunately, these changes were not made: It was once again unbearably hot in the afternoons and evenings in the main room and east wing due to an A/C issue that the owner has tried numerous times to fix. The half bath next to the kitchen still does not have a working faucet. The outdoor area next to the dock was (still!) full of moldy, broken furniture with ants throughout the cushions and a dirty concrete surface that should have been swept before our arrival. This area was very unappealing, not suitable for seating, and needs to be addressed. Overall, this owner cares about her property and does try to address issues. The A/C problem appears to be outside of her control, but the faucet and outdoor area next to the dock should long ago have been addressed.
