Fabulous property, stunning tiered garden, cosy well designed interior, ideally situated for exploring the Northumberland coast.
Cottage met all our expectations and we will definitely be returning.
We loved our stay at Dene cottage .Its a beautiful cosy ,dog friendly , thoughtful furnished cottage in lovely unspoilt countryside, only 15 mins away from nearest beaches .
The lack of a village shop was manageable with preparation of grocery shopping .
With a few internal steps , not suitable for those of limited mobility .
The photos really don't do it justice .
We would highly recommend and thank the owner for quick responses and attentiveness.
Check in was really quick & simple. Completely milk & biscuits were provided. There was everything we needed for a self catering stay. Kitchen well equipped and cleaning supplies were also provided. Nice for a family getaway.
Property was lovely, very comfortable, we had a great time. Proeprty has everything your need.
Great property, for a very enjoyable stay. Clean, tidy comfortable, lovely garden, parking for two cars, nice kitchen with everything you need. Just one note if you have reduced mobility the kitchen and also the bathroom are down two steps., nothing major.
Great accomodation with 2 kids 11 & 14 could have done with 1 more TV in a bedroom. Left mattrass in room without wardrobe could do with replacing, I slept OK on it but Shelley wouldn't have. Fire amazing, could do with a small piece of fencing to side of garage to enclose garden more. Hamper on arrival was really kind and Jack Charlton tea was superb. Would return but these tweaks would make it 5 out of 5.
The cottage was well appointed and equipped, but we found there was a lack of attention to detail in that we were left no dishwashing cloths or sponges and had to fix the seal on the dishwasher in order to use it. The gate post blew off in the wind and the garden down to the stream was overgrown so this was hard to access.
We also found that the cottage felt damp throughout our stay and smelt of wood smoke, despite trying to air it thoroughly, and never using the wood burner.
The cottage was in a good location for exploring the surrounding area, which is beautiful, and there is lots to do within a 20 minute drive. It was also quiet and peaceful.
Spacious, comfortable and well equipped cottage from which to explore this area of Northumberland. Donât forget to sit out in the garden and find the small blue birds (yes I know what they are but Iâm not allowed to say their name!) nesting in the stone wall. Book dinner at The Pack Horse Inn. Weâd highly recommend this place to stay!
It is difficult to summarise an experience that is perfect! We have been staying in cottages for many years and have experienced the good and well......... But this cottage surpasses them all. It is beautifully appointed, warm and cozy with the log burner lit, and doesn't lack anything. It is dog friendly and has a lovely garden leading down to a stream. The location is also perfect for exploring this gorgeous part of the UK. It even has a great village pub just 5 minutes away by car, 15 minutes if you are keen and decide the walk. This was a lovely place to spend a week.
