Lovely attic room but you could hear next door being sick in the night /snoring/coughing . Sadly bed wasnât comfortable instead of slats you were sleeping on hardboard . Great pub downstairs
Quaint, clean, cosy place with a fantastic breakfast.
However, there was a complementary bottle of wine included in our booking which we didnât get even though the hotel confirmed beforehand. Donât be fooled if you see this offered!
We have stayed here a few times which we have always enjoyed. This time not as much as we were allocated a room up 3 flights of very steep stairs. It was extremely noisy outside with pubgoers which I know is not the hotels fault who is walking past. It was mad Friday (at Christmas) so was extremely busy. The pressure on the shower was diabolical and was at best a trickle. The carpet in the bedroom was dirty and needs a good clean. We would stay again but prefer other rooms we have stayed in. All staff very pleasant and welcoming. Great location on the high street.
Room was beautiful and spotless(room 3 four poster suite). Staff were superb, the pub is so cozy and welcoming! We will definitely be returning next time we visit Chester. We normally stay at the Grosvenor and I can honestly say that the Pied Bull is 10 times better. Loved it! Thanks
We didnât the rate we paid was a âsuperiorâ room one but for the location which was perfect. The pub itself was cosy and historic. The cleaning staff were lovely, the reception were courteous but the restaurant were so busy the food wasnât up to standard when we used the restaurant during our first evening and we did not receive the 10% reduction on our food bill as we had been led to believe we would.
Overall it was a great place to use as a base for the centre of Chester!
Polite staff from check-in to check-out, a staff member showed me to my room and explained the keys and access points for after 9pm. The room was in the cottageâs past the enclosed beer garden. The room was clean and tidy, warm enough once the oil radiator was turned on and the bathroom was clean and a great size. The bed was comfortable and I can highly recommend the shower enclosure as it was very big and plenty of towels. There are hot drink facilities in the room and a small wardrobe with a hairdryer. I would recommend this place also for location as it is 2 minutes away from the Christmas markets and the cathedral is very close by along with the wall
A small double room that was clean and tidy and on the ground floor (room 22). Staff were always friendly and helpful. Noise from outside the room at 05.30, which was probably rubbish bins collection. Easy walking distance to shops, xmas market, restaurant's and bars. We parked our car in rhe New market hall car park which is a few minutes walk away, very convenient. The car park cost for two days was ÂŁ33.00 which is expensive. Almost forgot to mention the great breakfast
