The room was clean, the Staff very friendly, Steven the Bell Captain and Ruiz. All very soliciting. The hotel has see better days. There are many updates needed for a Michigan avenue location hotel. Our room toilet leaked, the vinyl planks squeaked, the curtains are from another decade, the grand hallway always smelled of weed, the restaurants open when staff is available. They do provide a Continental breakfast, fruit cut up, frozen pastries and liquid coffee. Fresh brewed is an additional cost. Restaurant staff friendly and attentive. Overall the Congress Plaza Hotel is in dire need of a total interior facelift -update. If you want a place close to the Art Institute, Millennium Park, Swanky Restaurants, this is the place.

The property is gorgeous, while outdated. The main entryway had one inner and one outer door working, but they were opposite. Staff was friendly, and on-site security was great. This property is well worth the stay for location alone.

We have stayed here a few times. Location is great. Rooms are very big compared to what you usually get in Chicago. Rooms are older but have character. Clean rooms. Hot water took forever to come on this time. Pillows are huge lol. Breakfast is fruit and bread. Would be nice to see a yogurt or gluten free option. Overall, good bang for your buck!

Sketchy hotel, stay clear. I had cockroaches in the bathroom. Rooms aren’t serviced everyday, which wasn’t disclosed on Expedia nor during check in. Reported both issues at the front desk during my stay, no effort was done to correct course. Not the service I expect for the price I paid, 200$/night, single room. Oh, and water was leaking from the ceiling in the gym, leaving a huge puddle on the floor.
