Staff was over worked. Elevators are a real problem. Can be a 20 min wait each direction to get breakfast. They gave us 6 waters, which is nice but does not make up for the angry staff who are tired of being yelled at all day.

My only complain would be that when I made our reservation it didn’t say anything about two different packages so when we tried to eat breakfast the next morning we couldn’t because we got the $49 package not the $80 so you have to pay $25 pero adult and $12 per child.

Attempted to contact the property on 8 occasions to make a room request prior to arrival. Started the process a full 3 months prior and never heard from them. I emailed, text (their “preferred method”), and called several times. Nobody ever returned my messages. Room was ok but will never stay here again due to poor customer service.

BEWARE

BEWARE!!! When you get there they are going to charge you in additional $250 in hotel fees!!!! Not just the fees you pay on here which are already insane. There they hit you again! They charge an 89.95 daily resort fee and I have no clue what you get for this. They say you get a $50 restaurant.com gift card but we could never redeem it, and some people in our party never received it. They do not clean the rooms or give you new towels. Apparently for 89.95 a day you get 6 bottles of water! The rooms were decent rooms, the location to magnificent mile and transit is really good. That is really all for this Hotel. The roof top bar wasn’t open, however the space is a nice outdoor space. The hotel smells like weed everyday all day. There were only 2 of the staff that were friendly.

We really enjoyed the location of the hotel which is perfect! But I would not recommend staying here since the hotel has so many hidden fees that they surprise you when you arrive. Please be careful!!!! I think there might be better options for what you end up paying..!! Very disappointing

So where do I start? I stayed here May 16-18th. I came to Chicago for the Beyoncé concert once she announced her tour. I got this room literally days later the price went up so I’m thinking like OK. I got it for a good price. When I booked my room on Expedia, it was $207 a night. So I’m like OK I’ll be paying like almost $500 for two nights which I thought was pretty decent. Fast-forward to May 16th when I get to Chicago. I was checking in and the guy told me I had a balance of $336 and also a holding fee of $125. So immediately I’m pissed. Because there’s no way that I should be paying an extra $336. So as I asked him to print a receipt and show me exactly what I’m paying for apparently there’s a $89+ tax accommodation fee per night, in which I should’ve seen when I checked out on Expedia, which also means it’s a hidden charge because it should definitely be right there. Not to mention the lady in line behind me said she booked on Expedia as well and where were the extra fees then. The crazy part about it is me and my friend booked our room the same day “on Expedia”. They didn’t charge her all the fees that I got charged when she checked in. Also, which means they pick and choose who they charge these fees too! So I get home and I reach out to Expedia and they send me this “We wanted to follow up after our last conversation, where you asked us to reach out to the property for the extra charge. Pumpkin to Prom!!!

I had an interesting experience with this hotel. Everything that vould go wrong did. It was the amazing customer service given by Jessica, Raymond and the check in clerk who is a hugger!!!! They turn my son's prom experience into a night to remember. Thank you for being kind, understanding and accommodating. It doesn’t matter about the opportunities that happened before I spoke to Jessica and the team...Thank you for giving my son who has autism a Prom night to remember!!!!

So disappointed. The location of the hotel is amazing but we booked a king suite and they had overbooked and only gave us a double queen. The halls are very loud at night and the bathroom door is frosted glass so any light in the bathroom lights up the whole room at night.

I’m very disappointed with my recent stay at The Chicago Hotel Collection. Several issues made the experience frustrating and uncomfortable: The receptionist at check-in was rude and passive-aggressive. We were barely informed about the mandatory amenity fee, and when we asked questions, we were threatened with cancellation of our booking. Housekeeping was supposedly only offered on the third night, yet we stayed three nights and never received service. On checkout day, I was charged an unexpected $25. I had already paid everything at check-in, and the front desk couldn’t explain the additional fee. It’s been over 48 hours since checkout, and I still haven’t received my deposit refund. This was a very disappointing experience and not what I expect from a property listed on Expedia
