Love this little beach motel so much! Very central location. Great walkability with many amenities nearby. It's not fancy but it's not trying to be. Just a really chill vibe and a fun getaway.
Terrible experience! Spa Motel is not a place that you want to stay in for the price. The picture of the tall, nice building behind the "Spa Motel" sign is misleading. There is no spa! Spa Motel is actually a 2-storey, maybe 50/60 year-old building. Broken door frame, crampy bathroom, old furnishings! Old stain mark on bedcover. We were not told by Expedia nor the motel's management when we checked in that there was a parking charge. We got a rude shock when they charged us for parking the next morning when we checked out!
To me and my partner this motel is a 2 to 2 and a half star. The price also is higher then it should be. Was not happy but we stayed because there was nothing else available.
What I liked: that it was right in the middle of everything; near the lake, dining, shopping. It had A/C. It had a fridge, microwave and kettle. And the fellow at the check in desk was very pleasant.
What i did not like: the carpet was filthy, especially in front of the door. The bathroom light flickered constantly while on, the tv kept turning off and on, the lamp with neon base was distracting to sleep, and the parking lot is small, was really tight with our SUV.
The hotel was right on main street and easy to find. Room was well appointed. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Walls and baseboards in room could use a good wash, and pavement through alley to main street is uneven which could post a tripping hazard when dark outside. Was told by front desk person that the hotel name used by the owner is because they operate another hotel under the same name in another country, "Harrison Spa Hotel". There is no spa at this hotel. Staff solicit pedestrians walking by, to eat at restaurants on either side of the hotel, stating that if they are hotel guests, they get a 15% discount. No discount was applied to our bill. We had been approached 3 times in one day by the restaurant staff standing to street each time we left or arrived back to our room.
Fabulous location! Older property but well kept...if you are looking for luxury no... looking for a great value in the perfect location YES!!! The attached restaurant is fabulous with amazing staff!
The property is very old and dated but had a real old time holiday motel feel. We were in the room at the front closest to the water. There were rickety old stairs leading up to the second floor where we stayed. There seemed to be a fair bit of maintenance going on around the property. The location is great and the price was a deal. We had a snack and a drink in the attached restaurant as well as breakfast the next morning. The food was good and the staff were excellent. All in all it was good value for the money for a one night stay.
