Wonderful property and wonderful staff who treat guests like family! This place needs to be on the National Historic Register due to its importance as part of the underground railroad. Hugely important in not just Cincinnati's history, but our shared human history. Love this place! Its an honor to get to stay here.
An absolutely charming B&B! The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept really soundly. Best part of the experience was Charles!! He is one of the nicest and most interesting people we've met in a long time!!: )
Great hospitality by Charles the Innkeeper and beautiful site with lots of character and hsitory. Wonderful art and an incredible book of poetry by owner's mother.
This is a unique and historically significant property as it was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Charles, the host, will lovingly tell you all about it! My family and I felt welcomed and enjoyed the communal breakfast with a wedding party that was also staying there. Donât come here if youâre looking for a schmancy spa-type place. Do come if you love people, history and supporting local small businesses.
Charles was a gracious host. He made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and always had a smile on his face and friendly conversation. This property is far enough away from downtown to avoid the hustle and bustle but close enough that getting down there when you want to is no problem. Charles also gave us great directions to get downtown with almost zero traffic. Breakfast was great! I would gladly stay here again.
Charles, the Innkeeper is the sole attraction and reason to come back. He is friendly, engaging, helpful, and a great storyteller and host. He explained the Inn was once a stop on the Underground Railroad. He serves a great breakfast and creates a real sense of community amongst guests. Everybody talks to each other and interacts. A very friendly vibe. It is a far more pleasant experience than contentiously standing in the waffle maker line at a Hampton Inn. Will definitely come back and stay here again.
We were extremely disappointed in our stay here and would never stay there again. The pictures looked so inviting and it was convenient and pet friendly! Upon arrival, someone took us to our room and it was in the "guest house" which looked NOTHING like the main house. It was old and badly in need of repair. Our room did not look like the pics-even the headboard was different. Paint was peeling, tiles in bathroom were cracked, toilet was not seated well, very few outlets and lamps, and had to buy our own water because there weren't even glasses or access to ice or anything. Some of the drawers wouldn't open and knobs fell off, and there were no hangers to hang our wedding attire in the half closet in the room. Only one key per room was available. We had the wrong wifi password and ran out of toilet paper (there was barely any on the one roll left for us) but we got both before we went to sleep. It took a walk to the main house and two phone calls (the number on the house that we were told to call did not work). Don't new guests get more than a few leftover sheets of tp? The one roll brought to us was small also. We bought our own the next day. Live and learn, private bathroom does not mean in your room. We had to go out in the hallway with another room's door right next to ours. It also doesn't mean it is only yours, since our tp disappeared the second day! Breakfast was great and hostess very pleasant though. Breakfast times were not communicated well.
We will stay here again for sure! This house is amazing but we stayed on the 7th acre in the second house. It is a very old house but the care taken to keep it clean is amazing. We rented for my daughterâs wedding and it was more than enough room for everyone and to get ready. Itâs on a main drag but youâd never know it. House is fully accommodating and the beds are so comfy. The innkeepers were very attentive to our needs and made sure our stay was suitable. My mother and I quite enjoyed our chats with Charles. 10/10 would recommend.
I loved the B&B! Charles and staff were wonderful and we met lots of interesting people. The rooms was clean, large & very comfortable. The homes history was also a bonus. A great experience all the way around.
