We enjoyed the cozy feel and thoughtful design of this historic home. The bed was comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, and the water stayed warm. The covered balcony was a nice bonus, and in nicer weather, it would be a great spot for coffee. The neighborhood felt safe and was full of charming, well-maintained historic homes. Having off-street parking in the back was also a nice convenience. That said, the home is very old. The bathroom had a strong sewage and mildew odor, and the blinds in the main bedroom were broken, making privacy difficult. Noise carries significantly due to the wooden stairs and flooring, which is something to consider for light sleepers or guests with pets. The loft worked for a short stay with a third adult but gets stuffy. We also had some inconveniences upon arrival—the key code we were given didn’t work, so we had to call and get a generic code. Then, the WiFi wasn’t working, and I had to go into the downstairs unit to reset the router, which had been completely unplugged. Luckily, the other renters hadn’t arrived yet, so we were able to access it. While the host was very responsive, we felt these were issues that should have been checked before our stay.Overall, this place is best suited for two adults and has a lot of charm, but some maintenance and attention to detail would improve the experience.
