Booked and paid for 2 nights. Only stayed one. Room noisy with birds nested above and alarm system outside (not the guesthouse) all late afternoon. Very basic. Enquired about parking options and still to receive a reply. On Main Street so handy for restaurants, location is the main thing going for here. No parking facilities apart from on street, which are difficult to secure as a Main Street.

We had a very difficult time finding the Arch. There was a doorway onto a long dark littered hallway to a very dark staircase. All painted black & very dreary. The room itself was clean. No staff on site-more like a boarding house. We were told there would be breakfast but on arrival that changed. We were told it was over a wine bar & restaurant but it was not open for business. I would not recommend

I was really disappointed in this property. The place was difficult to find, the building in ill repair (I tripped twice trying to get up the alley), carpets dirty and staff only available for new minutes. The walls were paper thin and we could hear our neighbour's toilets flushing. The shower door in our room was broken. There was no breakfast or at least we weren't told of any. Perhaps it is under new management? Skip this place.

Entrance took a minute to find as no clear sign outside... Place obviously being renovated, which is fine as it didn't affect my stay in any way.. I checked in and because I was getting back late, they said I could sleep in longer than usual check out time, which I appreciated a lot.. Room looks like it had been renovated too, so that was good.. Read some older reviews that were not favorable but they seem to have addressed those issues... Room was clean, cozy and comfortable.. Shower was great.. Very powerful, which is always good.. Location was great and plenty of street parking.. My room did not include breakfast but good place across street... All over a good experience..

For a two-night stay in Clifden, this property offered a convenient and comfortable base overall. The check-in process is self-service, which was a little confusing at first, but the host is available by phone if needed. The room was on the smaller side and a bit dated, and while the bed was adequate for a short stay, it wasn’t the most comfortable. There’s also a wine bar on the ground floor which is associated with the same owner, which appeared to be under renovation during our visit. Breakfast was available for purchase, though we ended up opting for nearby cafés instead. That said, the location is a real highlight—right in the centre of town and within easy walking distance of shops, pubs, cafés, and grocery stores. Parking was also straightforward, with no fees after 6pm, which made things very convenient. Overall, a solid choice for a short stay if you’re prioritising location.

There was nobody there to check in.A notice was posted on the door to call someone as it turned out it was the owner who was in Dublin.No brekfast was available.The TV in the room was not functional.A lady later appeared at my door pleasant and understanding but unable to correct anything.I did not stay there I left and found accommodation elsewhere.Also there were renovations afoot not finished.The place looks nothing like it's web site.It was unbelievable to me that the proprietor or a designated manager were not there.
