Shady Billing Practices

My complaint has nothing to do with the hotel's condition; it has to do with the hotel's "gameday" policy. I received a phone call at 9 am, which I almost did not take because it was an unknown number, asking me if I still intended to use the room I had reserved as a pay-at-property reservation months ago. I said yes. I was told that I had to pay right there and then, over the phone, or the room would be released. It felt like a shakedown. I don't like just giving my credit card information over the phone, and I like to pay at the property so that I am there when the charge is run through. I have never had an issue with this! I paid because I had no choice. I was told that this was a "gameday" policy, but I can't find that anywhere stated on my reservation. Very shady!

I bought my friend the room for the night as he was visiting from out of town. He was unable to get the room because it said it was $46 that I had paid but needed another $50 for a “security hold” that he didn’t have and I had no transportation to get there so I’m out of the money and he never got a room. They refused to take my card over the phone as well.

Avoid

This place smells and has mold and bugs. If you must stay here, check ALL of the sheets and bring air freshener. I'm currently fighting them for a refund because they claim they tried everything. It's just a gross motel and the makeshift bulletproof glass in the lobby should tell you all you need to know.

It was the worst and dirtiest experience of my life. I couldn’t sleep until morning, and then I found my arms and legs covered in bed bug bites. The pain, severe itching, swelling, and inflammation in my skin are beyond description . I’ll probably have to go to the emergency room.
