There was poop left outside from previous renters, my husband went out and took care of it. Bar outside needs some TLC, nothing like in the pictures, and weeds need to be pulled. The only reason I knit pick is because we and other renters are paying top dollar for their stay. It needs to be better than their own home. The house was clean and very comfortable.

Wonderful family vacation

We have stayed in many short term rentals, and this is our favorite by far! They even provided a dog bed and dog bowls for our dog!

the property was perfect for the large group of friends we had getting together. slept 12 adults comfortably and we all enjoyed being so close to the beach and main strip in Port A. Would stay here again without a second thought.

The Whatabeach house in Port Aransas was perfect! You're booking through VRBO with AvantStay and they were great at providing quick responses. My husband and I traveled with our two dogs and the house was equipped with a dog bed and a dog bowl which was a very nice touch! The house looked exactly as pictured, plenty of room and don't get me started on the backyard! The backyard was so incredibly nice and fully fenced in if you are traveling with pets. We loved having the option to come back and lounge by the pool after being at the beach. A few suggestions for the home would be: to include check out instructions in the home, possibly posted on the fridge, I had to pull the app and screen shot the instructions, so I didn't have to keep getting on the app; pooper scooper in the backyard to make it easier for guests to pickup after their pets; packaged soap bars/ mini shampoo and conditioner for the bathrooms that can be disposed of each time, the big reusable bottles don’t feel very sanitary. With that being said, no complaints at all from us, we simply bought a cheap beach shovel to pickup after our dogs and went to CVS to purchase our own soap. Would love to stay here again

The Perfect Stay

We loved staying at the Whatabeach House! It was far enough away from the main strip that we felt tucked away from the hustle & bustle; but not too far from everything. Getting a golf cart is key, as it made travel around the island super easy. The house was beautiful, clean, & featured awesome little touches that made our stay special such as: the pool, the grill, chargers everywhere, games, streaming services, & smart Google devices. We would definitely stay again!

Really great house. They have thought of everything. We loved the ease of the golf cart on the property, all the hooks in the living room and hallway, kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of parking, charging station, lots of shopping and the beach was close. We really enjoyed our stay here and would defineitly stay here again. Overall impressed with avantstay.

The whole family had a great time. The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed. The house was close to the beach and the marina. We loved the pool. Our 4 year old grandson had the best time on the putting green. Jim was great to work with booking this property.

The pictures don’t do this house justice!!!!! It is amazing! More than enough room inside and out for our family. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need!!! They have thought of everything you could possibly need! We will definitely be back!!!! The putting green was a huge hit!!!!

Loved our stay at Whatabeach! Even with the rain and cooler weather! It was a little chilly for the pool, but my grandson took the jump and chilled with a couple of laps, laughing the whole time! The putting green was a great hit, I even beat my grandson in one round! The back deck was enjoyed by all! It was too wet for the fire pit unfortunately. Had a blast with the cart as well, I think we drove all over town, threw a blanket or beach towel on and off we went! Thank y'all!

This house is truly amazing! Easy access! There was no need to meet anyone in person to sign a contract or get keys to property. We received our own personal keypad information for the door which made the check in process that much smoother! There were so many small details that made the experience awesome! Towels nicely placed on each bed, there was a basket full of clean beach towels, and each shower had full sized and good quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. This place is pet friendly and the pet fee is a reasonable price! Our doodle LOVED the dog bed that was provided and loved relaxing on the awesome patio area. The property is located on the most perfect spot, around everything yet, slightly hidden from main road. We felt safe our entire stay. I forgot my makeup bag and I contacted management and they quickly responded with ways to help and even ship my bag! I do wish the pool was heated but that only cause we love to travel in the fall/winter time! The pool felt amazing for mid October and temperatures were in the mid 80’s! We will be making this property our go to spot moving forward.

Comfortable & well equipped house.

We enjoyed a 3 week stay at this really cute, well equipped and comfortable house. It is located such that one can walk to stores, the downtown area and restaurants. Bed was comfortable, house was very clean and we really liked the spaces to hang out in as the weather wasn't super warm most of the time. It is close to a mile to the beach so it is a good walk or a quick drive. Our dogs liked the fenced back yard, putting green was fun and the pool looked inviting but we didnt swim. I didnt give the house a 5 star rating as the exterior spaces weren’t nearly as nice or inviting: some/most of the outdoor furniture is pretty worn and dirty, all neighbors surrounding the house have dogs that bark nearly constantly and most of the surrounding properties look very cluttered and junky, so the views from the decks are not pleasant. That said, there were still times when the sun was shining and one is sitting by the pool and all is good! Property managers were very responsive and are aware of the opportunities with the outside spaces, I have no doubt they will address what they can. Port A is a nice, beachy town with friendly Texans and other visitors. Liked the wide variety of restaurants. There is a wonderful community park a few blocks away with a dog park and nature trails and other many other amenities within the park. We would use SWAY again, they have many other properties in the area.

Birthday Celebration and Memories

I treated my wife for her birthday and brought some of her closest friends/family down for a nice getaway. It was our first trip since having a little one so it was going to be our first major trip with a baby in tow. Everything was amazing. A challenge to get the door open because the lock was sticking in the door but we got through it. We were a short 3-4min drive down to the beach and enjoyed plenty of time there. I have to say the house was amazing. Spacious and perfect for the group we had. We didn’t use the kids room but I did enjoy it as it was outfitted with an Xbox1 and games! The kitchen and living room being open spaced was perfect to entertain, cook, and play games. The baby loved their first time in the pool and it was nice to have it when we just wanted to chill and enjoy some privacy. The grill could use some love as I spent some time cleaning it up to cook. The only thing I was surprised with was one of the main bedrooms has a sliding door for the bathroom and the other doesn’t. There were pots, pans, feeding chair, and all kinds of other stuff available to use if you need it. I would still recommend to have your own plastic ware/plates available for easy cleanup. Saved a lot of time on the day before check out to have everything cleaned up so we got to enjoy the last evening together. I appreciated the follow up by the management staff on everything. We plan on returning again for our own trip. You will not be disappointed.

Wonderful! Great Place!

Overall, this was a lovely, clean and a great price for what you get. It was way too big for us both and, we will stay there again if it is available. It was perfect for the two chihuahuas as well. the yard is fully enclosed but be sure to bring doggie bags for the backyard. The deck out back is just great for relaxing on cool evenings. All listed amenities were included with lots of cook ware and a large fridge. You will love it too!
