A lovely getaway for me, my mom and 2 children. The place was clean, well stocked and peaceful. Beautiful views. Didnât use the hot tub but looked in it and it was clean and hot. Noise from the hot tub was loud, it may have been a setting that was left on. I did mention to the managers and they responded as soon as their office opened - we were leaving so wasnât going to be an ongoing issue for us, but they said they would take a look, so what more can they do. The children and I were able to clamber down to the little water front, there is a makeshift ladder, mostly shells and rocks. Lots of crabs to see too. Nice place. Would stay again.
Loved the property! The cottage was clean and well appointed. Just rustic enough (e.g. no dishwasher and fireplace was wood burning vs gas). The hot tub was clean and perfect for sitting and reading. The picture windows had wonderful water views. There was even an eagleâs nest overhead with eaglets! My friend and I like weekend getaways to Coupeville and this location is our favorite so far! Beds are comfy too!
We had never been over to Whidbey island so for my birthday we decided to spend the weekend here in coupeville. We had a really nice stay, the house had everything we needed, the hot tub was great. We would definitely come back and stay again.
Beautiful location, stunning views of the cove. The cleanliness of the house was lacking greatly and there were a few things in disrepair. But the positive experience with the person who dropped off a pizza was a highlight. We didnât complain about the things not working or the cleanliness because we were impressed with the hospitality. The location of the house cannot be beat though. Recommend eating at Captain Whidbey.
We loved our stay at cove cottage! During the day we explored state parks and towns and at night ( and in the morning) we enjoyed the hot tub with gorgeous views! They really thought of everything too, thank you!
We came for a long weekend, and we had a great time! We did think the beach was easy to walk down to like the pictures imply but between the snow and ice and steep edge it was not, also the lighting in the house makes cooking a bit tough, we had to move a lamp on top of the fridge, if there were new day light bulbs in the kitchen that would have helped, all the bulbs were miss-matched and dimâŠAll in all a great stay! Loved the town and cabins views!
Great view, cozy spot but probably wouldnât return.
Our check in was for 4pm, we arrived at 4:15 to the house still in use. The cleaner was still there, so we had to stand outside in the cold with our 1 year old daughter anxiously ready to be inside to relax. The house is very cozy, but I wouldnât say it comes with a fully stocked kitchen, we had to go out and buy a knife that was actually sharp. We left it, so next person can use a sharp knife. No fire wood for the fire place. Had to go buy some. The listing says it has plates and things for kids, they do not. The showers and sinks were falling apart and difficult to get a safe temperature. All these things are fine, but reduces the ability to fully relax. Then upon cleaning up, we are instructed to remove the sheets and things and found a huge nasty stain on the mattress protector. The views are amazing. Hot tub was great. Just some small inconveniences that add up.
The house was wonderful, as was the location. Very comfortable and we would definitely go back. The only downside was communications during the stay with the property management firm. Big wind storm the morning after arrival and all power on the island was lost. I called the property management firm to notify them - fully knowing there was nothing they could do. They did promise to keep in touch and update me on what they could find out about the power returning. Power was out 25 hours and the we never heard back from the property manager. Thankfully there was firewood and a fireplace. We stocked up on candles and snacks and made an adventure out of it.
Myself and two friends stayed over a stormy weekend and had a fun cozy and relaxing time. The fireplace was a nice warm welcome and added to our evening playing games and laughing. The hot tub was nice, clean and hot. The beds were comfortable and the towels and linens clean.
Cabin had beautiful views and great location for getting to lovely drives and nice trails to explore. House set up nicely for two couples with private and shared space. Kitchen needed better pans and hot tub was of no use. Needs some shelter.
We had a great stay at this property on Whidbey. Centrally located, quiet area yet walking distance to to Captain Whidbey Inn for dinner one night. Saw seals, crab, Mt. Baker and beautiful sunsets all from the property. Wonderful spot for our family vacation!
This was a very nice place to stay. Feeling of being remote with a great view of the cove but close to Coupeville and other locations for day trips. The outside looks a little run down but the inside was absolutely beautiful and well cared for. Hot tub was amazing to sit in especially at night with a view of the water. Instructions were left for all the needs for the house during the stay. If there was one downside, it would be that you may want to bring some regular drinking cups, especially if you have kids, as there are only wine like glasses and coffee mugs to drink from. Otherwise, no complaints.
Cove Cottage is an absolutely delightful place to stay. It conjures up all those wonderful vibes and memories of your favorite summer cabin. It is perfectly located, with expansive views directly onto the water.
This is a winner -- we will be back!!
Not being familiar with the island or the town of Coupeville, I was surprised by how remote the cabin was. It's difficult to find, especially in the dark, until you acclimate to the area. The cabin itself was cozy and comfortable, though it could have been cleaner.
Note to the property manager, the instructions for the remote and coffee maker are out of date. Both were easy enough to figure out but the instructions were misleading.
