This flamingo coloured hotel building is truly stunning. The reception areas , dining and beach are really fantastic . The crystal clear water and beach is clean and we swam with different coloured fishes. It is a short taxi ride to the ferry and shopping areas. The food was nice and varied. The staff especially Martha and Julio were so friendly and kind to us all through the stay . Unfortunately the downside is that the rooms are quite old and dated. The water pressure is mixed , the air conditioning leaves the room , clothes and bedding damp and wet to the touch. The manager tried everything to fix this for us but unfortunately there was no solution. We stayed three nights and it was all lovely while at the beach or hotel areas . Going back to the room was a bit daunting - we would have stayed longer if the room was nicer . The gym facilities are also very basic. It is a lovely welcoming hotel and once the rooms are modernised in the future we would definitely stay there again . Thank you Martha and Julio 🙏

If you don’t expect much you will be fine. They do not put refrigerators in the rooms. You can not order room service unless you go to the front desk. The room temperatures are between 24-26. Our room stayed at 26. We tried to switch rooms the front desk said they would ask management. We tried for three days and gave up. The staff was very friendly!

Great resort! (en Espanol al final) In short, a very pleasant experience with absolutely outstanding staff, great food variety and taste, and incredible room view. Everything works fine, but this is not a new resort, so do not expect super new fixtures. Definitely worth visiting and great value. Want more details? here we go: The water is gorgeous, there is a sandy beach section, and an intertidal pools/rocky section where you can see tons of fish, and other animals (sea stars, stingrays, anemones, etc.). We even saw dolphins twice!!! Apparently there is a character limit so read my full review on Google En pocas palabras, una experiencia muy placentera, el personal es increíble, la comida es variada y deliciosa, y la vista desde el cuarto es simplemente maravillosa. Todo funciona, pero no es un resort nuevo, así que no espere todo nuevo ( a mi me gustan los lugares con carácter). Definitivamente vale la pena hospedarse en el Cozumeleño.

This resort has the best beach on the island. My wife and I are world travelers, we live in San Diego. But, we come here often for the year round 80+ degree clear water. We like all of the staff here. All rooms have an ocean view. We always get 5/8th floor rooms with balconies. The value for the cost is excellent. If you want better food go pay $600 a night somewhere else. But those places don’t have the beach atmosphere like here. We’ve done checked all of them out on the island. We used to do Cancun until we found this place. We’ve been to beaches in Bali, Hawaii, Spain, Greece, Africa, Egypt, Malibu etc. But this is our go to place. Fly into Cozumel airport and you’re only a 15 minute taxi ride away.
We like to watch all (3-8) cruuuse ships come everyday in the mornings and leave in the evenings.
Cruise ships come in miles down the coast from here

This property has a lot of potential and was probably great 30 years ago, however, the lack of investment in the property is obvious. AC is horrible, so prepare to sweat during your meals and in your sleep. The buffet is only available in the mornings but be ready to fight crows while you eat your food. During lunch and dinner you’ll have to order off a menu which would be fine if you didn’t have to wait 30 minutes for a meal or drink refill. The staff seem to compete on who can take the longest to get your order in. Our trip was during mid June and the swim up pool was closed, servers on the beach got to you when they could. Pools seem to not be cleaned daily, they were full of bugs and dead crabs. No phones in the rooms to deter room service orders. The only saving grace for this hotel is their beach, the water is absolutely beautiful. Spend an extra couple bucks and go to a hotel with better service to enjoy Cozumel

This was our fourth time to stay at El Cozumeleno, we had experienced things in the past but dealt with it. This trip was by far the worst, four out of the five days we had to deal with no hot water most of the days, when it did come back on it had a lot of debris. The shower head was complete mess, the facility could at least spend a little money to change the shower heads as ours was spraying more water on the walls than on our bodies. The air conditioners are another sore subject as well. We have dealt with them on every trip... The food is subpar these days and at lunch you are no longer allowed to serve yourself at the buffet which is a pain. The constant issue of dealing with the birds in the dining area in the palapa as well as the area by the bar is just ridiculous... The facility needs to get the birds under control, from stealing food from people's plates, hands or the constant fear of the birds pooping on you as they fly over you. Tiles in the pool need to be repaired or replaced. We witnessed a little girl get her foot cut open from the missing tiles in which the staff helped address her injury but nothing was done to prevent it from happening to someone else. As bad as I hate to say it I have made the decision to look at other all inclusive resorts to take my family going forward as this trip was an eye opener for me. We love the beach and view at El Cozumeleno but all the other issues have made it not enjoyable anymore.

The hole week the pool was green and couldn't swim. They served the same food all week only three main dishes on menu. No entertainment at all during the day or night. and the swim up bar was never opened. The staff was very nice and polite.

The staff is wonderful, but we didn’t have hot water to shower, no lunch or dinner buffet. No bingo, no swim up bar, no kid buffet. It was a slow week but we were expecting what was advertised. But I would stay there again and we have stayed several times . The snorkeling is great there. And the staff remembers you. I love the place.

The hospitality at this resort was above and beyond. Roberto, the tour representative was phenomenal. The food in the formal dining was excellent except for the chicken. Always seemed to be overcooked so it was tough but everything else was excellent.

The water and beach is great. Breakfast and lunch are good. I really enjoyed the Huevos Motulenos, fajitas, and ceviche. Towels are annoying. When we go back, we will stay on the top floor where you do not have to exchange the towels at the front desk to avoid being charged. I’ve never stayed at an all inclusive that didn’t have an outside towel service. I found this very inconvenient, especially with two small children. They will also not allow you to drop towels off after 7.
