Big enough for adults to getaway aka hide. :-) The three girls 12, and 7 year twins enjoyed jumping in the freezing lake. Good space for three generations!
We had a mini-family reunion with my four siblings and all stayed in this house. This house is huge and has so many beds, stocked with board games, really nice fire pit and dock, great kitchen with all the essentials, and we were able to rent the pontoon boat as well--it was great for us!
Nice big house. Very well stocked! Lake was gorgeous. Lots of games for the whole family. Swimming was great; easy to get in and out of lake. We rented a boat, it was at the dock when we arrived. The best VRBO we have stayed in.
So many positive things to say about this property and the host/manager/owner. Our group was 6 adults and 5 kids ages 6 - 15. I communicated with Jay during and right after booking, then Mike and Nicole during our stay. A few maintenance issues that were addressed asap and did not detract from our stay, Mike was super responsive. Property has a lot of bath towels, hand towels, wash clothes, extra bedding. Nice touch that feminine products were provided in bathrooms. We brought but did not need to bring......dish, laundry and hand soap, dryer sheets, bleach, etc.
Exterior: at least 10 chairs around the campfire, plenty of firewood and utensils for s'mores/hot dogs; gas grill, flat top grill, two kettle charcoal grills; ground level deck area has cushioned wicker chair with seating for seven, large picnic table with seating for eight, four reclining lounge chairs, small iron table with seating for six, and a few other chairs; beside the house has two very nice log rocking chairs; fish cleaning table with hose; 4 or 5 large trash cans outside for everyday and 4 cans at road; two kayaks and two paddle-boards, a few inflatable floats; bring spray/repellent, black flies and mosquitoes are a bit aggressive (typical in northern Michigan).
Pontoon: 3 gas cans; cooler for fish; gas gauge doesn't work (fill before leaving dock); floats and inflatable for tubing.
Can't add interior review, limit of 1500 characters. If you are looking for a norther get-away for any season, book this!
This house is so big but also so cozy feeling. There is so much space for kids to run and play while the adults relax. The house had everything youâd need, they even thought to leave extra toothbrushes and toothpaste
(Perfect for my forgetful teen daughter) and a pack n play stored in the extra large mud room that greeted us after playing in the snow. Jay was so responsive and accommodating to our last minute schedule shift due to weather. This place proved itself to be perfect getaway for any season. We canât wait to come back!
we ended up in Crystal Falls after coming up short in the Iron Mountain area, we we usually stay for our reunion. This cabin was great and everyone in the family (ages 25 to 66) enjoyed it. The games (ping pong, darts, cornhole, foosball) were perfect late night activities after skiing, and the multiple coffee makers were a plus for a big group of fourteen. The grand room/ main area was spacious to gather around for meals like breakfast at the high tops. There were tons of towels and three full showers sufficed for the group. Thank you, Jay! We had a great time in your home.
This lakehouse was exactly what our big familiy needed this summer! Incredible views, plenty of lake things to do, and something for everyone. Fishing, swimming, hiking, boating, kayaking, sunset bonfires and fireworks just to name a few! Our host was incredibly responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. The house was the perfect size for our group. It was clean, beautiful, and welcoming. Even on our rainy day we had bags, darts and ping pong to keep us occupied. I would definitely recommend this house for a northwoods get away! We will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
We had an amazing time at the property. Mike and Jay were super hands on and responsive. We rented a boat from a local marina and they were able to pick it up for us and drop it back off, which was just such an amazing thing to do for us. Plenty of space for everyone. The whole living space is just great. Kitchen is top notch! Layout of bedrooms is fantastic!! We didnât have to worry about waking up the rest of the crew when younger kids would wake mid night. Would definitely be back if in the area. Thank you Mike and Jay!!!
House has direct access to the snowmobile trails. Wake up make breakfast and hit the trails. Large open family room and kitchen allows you to comfortably spread out and socialize. Kitchen is large and has newer appliances. Bedrooms are spread out throughout the house, so no sharing of rooms was needed. Host was amazing and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
The Safari House lives up to its name, with taxonomic trophies throughout. The kitchen is well-supplied and bathroom capacity is up to the needs of a crowd. The dock and patio offer hours of amusement for the water-worthy and spectators alike. The lake is clear and lovely. The scenery around the lake is hilly, wooded, and relaxing. The owner is responsive.
We enjoyed our first annual family vacation at the Safari House. We have rented several homes on VRBO and never have we experienced owners that were so responsive and communicative! In addition, the property was clean and everything we needed. We had 13 adults and 2 children under 2 and other than a suggestion to bring some baby gates for stairs the house was perfect! Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and everyone had their own space when they needed a break! Highly recommend!
Our family had a wonderful time at the Safari House. Plenty of space for our group of 11 to sleep, hang out, cook, and eat meals together. We loved it!
We had an amazing time at the safari house with our group of 10 adults /5 couples. There was lots of room to spread out everyone have their own bedroom. We drove 350 miles on our ATVs and left right from the house. Kitchen is huge and great for cooking big meals. Very easy communicating with Rich. Loved looking at all the animals and wondering about all the stories that went with the huntsđ lake water is crystal clear.
Wonderful property! Clean and had everything we needed. Also big enough to socially distance inside and out:) Beautiful sunsets and even saw Neowise comet! Grocery is very close by and we had an easy trip to Marquette for rock climbing and to Eagle River for GoKarts. Pentoga Park was fun for the kids. Wish we brought our bikes.
There aren't many properties in this area that can accommodate a large group. We had a great time during an NYE weekend ski trip. The communication with the owner was top notch. Such a cool house...thanks for sharing it with us!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our family stay at the Safari House. Everything was as described in listing. Layout of house worked great with our group and allowed for space for all. Lake is beautiful and everyone enjoyed the water. Fishing was fast and furious, although no whoppers it was entertaining. Already planning a return trip next year!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful house, great place. There is enough room for our large and extended family to have space to spread out and enjoy even if it rains! We enjoyed the beach at the other end of the lake, with it's playground, swimming platforms and logs! We even made multiple trips to the ice cream shop there! We kept very busy catching fish, taking boat rides, tubing and enjoying the sun-sets. We also enjoyed a dinner at Young's! Great times!
