Daughter & I stayed 4 nights as a base to visit Nolin Lake & Mammoth Cave NP away from the tourist crowds. MCNP is 45 minutes away on scenic, rural roads. Best thing about this rental: access to the neighborhood boat ramp with adjacent swimming area, a 5 minute walk away or you can drive & park there. The bottom is sandy/rocky, not muck. This saved our visit to the area, booked before I learned that the public beaches on Nolin Lake & most of NLSP are closed due to spring flooding, expected to be closed for the season. We enjoyed floating in the lake & enjoyed some gorgeous sunsets there. Our host was responsive the few times we messaged. The cottage had everything we needed - used the firepit & kitchen to make a few meals. The AC was needed & appreciated. Nice seating area outside. Cottage is in a wooded neighborhood of cottages & RVs & situated for outdoor views. Neighbors were very friendly. Would recommend. Good for groups, families, little ones, people w mobility issues. Other than a few steps to the door, the cottage is all one level & you can park close to the door.
Beautiful cabin in cub run! Perfect distance from mammoth cave and lots to do! Me and my friends booked this as a last horrah before we all start our lives and go to college and I have nothing but good things to say. If youâre looking for a place in cub run, this is it!!
It was really a great place, although the cleaner I believe it was, left soda on the table and the closet door open with keys in the lock and a pile bedding on one of the beds, just fyi. But very nice place! There is a dip in the driveway that is a bit hard on the car. But thanks for the nice place.
We enjoyed our stay with some exceptions. There was a single partially used roll of toilet paper in the house. I can understand having to supply paper products for the majority of our stay, but that wasnât even enough for one night with three ladies. Also short on paper towels and no kitchen towels to be found to use instead. TV remotes had no batteries, there was a sour milk smell in the fridge. Towels, sheets, and pillows need a major upgrade. When we messaged the host for help with TVs we got a very generic reply and then silence. But it was very quiet and peaceful, and it was close enough to Mammoth Cave and the Lincoln sites to be easy to get around. Price was very affordable.
poor communication & a few hiccups but overall a fine stay
The outdoor pergola lights were not working & I messaged the host our first night there & didnât hear back for over 12 hours. Then, the nextmorning as we woke up, the primary bedroom bed cracked beneath us & when we took off the mattress it appeared that the bed wasnât properly built & was missing some screws. We used pallets found in another room to create a support under the bed which made it useable but it wasnât ideal. After mssng and calling the host about the lights, the bed, and the tv remote batteries being out (we asked if there were replacements) we waited over 12 hours for any response and the response wasnât helpful. Host ignored the batteries, told us to plug in the lights (they were plugged in), and offered to âcome lookâ at the bed the following evening. To be fair, we turned down the offer of him coming to look at it bc we didnât want it to interfere with our plans - but the bed shouldâve been in safe condition to begin with. We also happened to be there during heavy rain & the door keypad wasnât working while wet so we struggled to get in one evening. Last con was the driveway had a very large dip which damaged my car when we pulled in/out and almost made the driveway inaccessible entirely. Now the positives - plenty of space for a family (there were only 2 of us but couldâve had a few more people comfortably). The bathtub was so nice - we really enjoyed using that!! Roku TVs were nice & space was clean. Kitchen had everything we needed.
This well appointed cabin had all we needed for a short stay close to Mammoth Cave national Park. Our family of four found it perfectly suitable with comfortable beds and adorable kitchen with a brand new sink! We had a lovely time here in the quiet of the woods, before heading over to Mammoth Cave the following day. Thank you for a fabulous stay!
This stay was adorable. The place was clean and my toddler LOVED the bath tub! The chalk board was super fun and there were lots of cute books to read. It was easy to get into the place and to find it. The only drawback was that it is in the opposite side of Mammoth Cave than the visitor center, which is about 40 minutes from the house. However, there is a great park with a playground right near the home. Otherwise, it was great place!
The property is incredibly cozy with all the amenities you might need. It is a short walk down to the lake and the surroundings are beautiful. The only downside was having to leave.
Just returned from a wonderful stay at this location!! First want to straighten out some of the past reviews: this location definitely has a conventional stove/oven, second point, yes there are two units on this lot but you definitely have your own private outdoor space, there are two separate fire pits and two separate porches. The only downside is, Yes you âcouldâ sleep 5 or 6 people but there are not enough utensils to feed 6 people without bringing your own additional dishes. This unit is WONDERFUL for 2 people. Lastly, it is a SOLID 45 minute drive to the Mammoth Cave Visitor Center. Would definitely recommend!
Stayed there several times for fishing trips. Beds are very comfortable and the pergola outside is great for evenings. This is our go to place when we are in the area
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Lake house. The sofas and beds are very comfy and the decor sets a relaxing mood. There are a few things that could use some tweaking, like the bedroom door, maybe a larger shower curtain and some attention to the deck. However, over all our stay was very pleasant. I would definitely recommend and also plan on visiting again
Myself, husband and 4 kids. 3 days, 2 nights. Peaceful, quiet, relaxing, beautiful, not too far from everything, but not in the city for sure. Not exactly on the lake, but has a boat ramp included. We all loved it! Bath tub was a big plus! My only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer.
This property is near mammoth caves and we used it as a base to stay in while visiting the park. This double-wide mobile home was nice and clean and in a good location. Absolutely no complaints and good price for a group. The kitchen is a little small so if you are planning to cook for a group keep that in mind. There is also no shower so if you are hiking and getting dirty you will be cleaning in a tub. Neither were major issues and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean comfortable stay in Cub Run area.
Everything that the website said was there was there.. the place was clean and the manager/owner was very nice and respectful..I would recommend this place for a nice peaceful getaway
