Has to have fake reviews..

I don’t even know where to begin.. the ceiling was literally falling, mold, filthy carpets, there is people living in this building.. as an apartment building.. we were given a room on the second floor and that was the only “hotel” room on that floor. Wires hanging from the ceiling in hallway roof leak.. there is no restaurant no bar, no winery.. this is false advertisement. The owner is aware and doesn’t care.

A Little Piece of History

Great place to stay. The hotel has such an interesting history. It has an historic look and feel, but not run down at all. There's even a fun little "museum" in the basement level. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent location too. It's surrounded by shops and places to eat.

My room was clean and updated, the bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels. Water pressure was great. I did not encounter any hotel staff as I checked in after 4 pm and left before 10 am which is when the desk is staffed. Communication before my stay with staff was good and clear.

An unpretentious hotel in a historic building, basic but with a good bed and super clean. Frostburg and its surrounding area is beautiful and we had a good stay here visiting family. You can bring your dog since the hotel is pet friendly with no pet fee! Unfortunately they recently closed the restaurant but there are plenty of other options close to the hotel.

Great location in downtown Frostburg

We had a great stay at Hotel Gunter. The staff were very helpful. We loved all the historic details, including the basement jail! The stairway lobby is a very grand place for photos. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. The location was perfect for walking around town and finding restaurants. We also loved visiting the charming Main Street Books next door.

It was a unique building. The downtown area was nice. Didnt like the parking situation. Shower drain was clogged. Small room.

This was unlike other hotels in that it felt homey. The hotel was built in 1897 and was definitely quirky but also completely charming and unique. If we come back to Frostburg we would 100% stay here again every time!

Vintage hotel with Victorian charm and beautiful interior woodwork. Showing a bit of its age, but clean and quiet. Very walkable area. No USB charging. Window A/C. Room was a decent size, bed/mattress was very comfortable. Good water pressure/shower head.

The property is older, built in 1897, so it's very unique.we ; loved the dining area and staircase. I have never stayed in a hotel that old so the age shows especially in the lower level but it's very charming. We would recommend to others and stay again also.

Upon arriving in our room and lying on our bed, we discovered that our behinds sank deeply into an old memory foam mattress. There was a huge divot/crease that our behinds sank into. The mattress needs to be badly replaced. The bathroom is large but there is no counter to place toothpaste/toothbrushes and other amenities so you have to place them on the back of the toilet. Secondly, on day 2 of our 3 day stay, we put the sign on the door knob asking housekeeping to change the sheets, towels, etc. Housekeeping did not provide that service. Then this morning (Monday), we asked the front desk (there wasn’t anyone at the front desk at 8:30 on Saturday or Sunday…they arrive at 10:00) about this and were told that normally housekeeping doesn’t service the room while people are still in their rooms, even if they have left for the day and have the sign up. Plus, housekeeping employees all leave at 1:00 pm. This begs the question as to why even have those doorknob signs if it’s not going to be looked at? As for location, it’s wonderful as is western Maryland. It’s the only saving grace.
