Kiddville war ein kleines Goldminenlager in den Tagen der Ansiedlung der Black Hills im spÀten 19. Jahrhundert!
Nach dem Goldrausch wurde es dann aufgegeben.
Das Ferienhaus war ursprĂŒnglich die zweigeschossige Bergarbeiterpension. Die Pension wurde in den 1930er Jahren zu einem bescheidenen Einfamilienhaus umgebaut und umgestaltet, und das Anwesen wurde zu einem privaten 38 Hektar großen Ranch / Gehöft.
Und auch 2007 wurde das Haus mit neuen SanitÀranlagen, Teppichböden, Betten, ... aktualisiert.
Die Lage ist 9 Meilen nordwestlich von Custer.
Sechs dieser Meilen sind gut gepflegter Kies.
FĂŒr MotorradgĂ€ste stehen ParkplĂ€tze in der NĂ€he der Autobahn zur VerfĂŒgung, falls Sie ein Auto haben, um von dort aus nach Hause zu fahren.
Die zweite Etage des Ferienhauses beherbergt die drei Schlafzimmer und das Vollbad. Das Erdgeschoss besteht aus einem Wohnzimmer, einer KĂŒche, einem Esszimmer, einer WaschkĂŒche, einer Veranda und einem kleinen Wintergarten.
Zwei der Schlafzimmer haben Doppelbetten. Das dritte Schlafzimmer hat zwei Einzelbetten.
Die ursprĂŒnglichen Homesteader / ViehzĂŒchter (meine Großeltern) aus den 1930er Jahren lebten 75 Jahre lang bis 2007 im Haus!
Das Haus befindet sich auf 38 Hektar in Privatbesitz; keine anderen bewohnten Wohnungen. Einsamkeit fĂŒr dich!
Diese AnbauflĂ€che liegt im Herzen eines hervorragenden nationalen Waldhirsch- / Truthahn- / Elchlandes. Es gibt keine anderen bewohnten Wohnungen auf dem 38 Hektar großen GrundstĂŒck.
Auf einigen (eingezĂ€unten) AnbauflĂ€chen weiden Ranchrinder. Der fĂŒnf Morgen große Hof beherbergt kein Vieh.
Historische GebĂ€ude, die sich auf dem GrundstĂŒck befinden, sind ein MinenprĂŒfungsbĂŒro, ein Haus fĂŒr Hausmeister, eine Scheune / Kessel und eine Kabine.

Kiddville Ranch is a beautiful gem in the Black Hills. Full of rich history and stunning landscape. A quiet retreat tucked away in a peacful valley. My husband and I stayed a week with our 2 boys (age 3 and almost 2) and our dogs. We all enjoyed eating meals on the picnic table and letting the kids play in the nicely mowed grassy areas. Great central location to all southern and central Black Hills attractions. Kay was such a kind and hospitable host, as was Tricia. Thank you for sharing your wonderful family home!

Historic Ranch close to Custer

We had a wonderful time at the ranch for our 2nd visit to the area. House was well equipped and comfortable. Perfect location for riding our UTV to many beautiful locations and close to town for food, groceries and gas. Thanks for sharing your family home with us!

Lovely Little Stay

We booked this property for our "wild west" vacation. I chose it because I knew my family would enjoy the history and setting. It didn't disappoint. The property is old and unique. We appreciated the book of information on the history and the pictures. We found it a very sweet story. It is a little off the beaten path, but we were able to do all of the things we wanted in SD and this place was centrally located to all. We loved the quiet and solitude, the space for the dogs to play, the history, and the wildlife that greeted us in the early mornings and evening. If you like history, unique experiences, and quiet, this is the perfect place to say. We appreciate the host wanting to keep this property in the family and sharing with others because it is really unique. The history and pictures only added to the sweetness.

Loved our stay!

My sisters and I enjoyed our vacation and this was a perfect place for us to stay. Kay our hostess was as nice as could be and very responsive with coming over to replace batteries in the tv remote. Loved the history of the place as it reminded us of our grandmothers house growing up. Loved coming back in the late afternoon to the peaceful and quiet valley after a day of excursions. The place was well stocked, clean with ample room for 4 adults. We will definitely book this place again if ever in the area again.

Peace and tranquility

The property and house is amazing. It was so nice to come back to the house after a long day of exploring. My 19 yr old daughter kept saying that she wants to live there. Wonderful stay here

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and particularly appreciated the notes throughout the grounds about the history and family who built it. Staying here was like stepping back in time to experience an earlier lifestyle but without having to sacrifice modern conveniences. Wonderful vacation house!

We stayed here for 5 nights. Listing was very accurate, house was clean and ready for us! The property was peaceful- it was easy enough to get to town if you wanted but house had all the amenities we needed to cook and relax. It’s the perfect location for any of the Black Hills tourist attractions. We had no issues and owner was very responsive and pleasant when we called to check in. I would go back again and will recommend to family and friends.

Awesome Location!

We so enjoyed the space and exploration area this house gave us! Our kids and dogs loved hiking through the forest right outside the door and checking out all the historical buildings on the property. The well water took some getting use to, but other than that everything was great. We really enjoyed our stay!

My wife and I really enjoyed the property! It was fun coming home every day around dusk and seeing different wildlife walking through. Our dogs also loved every bit of the area! The house had everything we needed and Kay was very friendly. We’re sorry we missed her when she stopped by. We would definitely stay again.

Mt. Rushmore Trip

We were looking forward to this stay from the reviews. It was nice having property for the kids and dogs to roam; However, I doubt that a full 5 acres was mowed and up kept as stated. The first night we came in at 10pm and were exhausted, but had to change/clean bedding before we could sleep. It was to late to complain, so I alerted the owner when she introduced herself the next day and I sent a message on here. She was appalled at the situation and more than apologetic for the situation. Kay and Trish were very sweet and wonderful. However, we expected old and nostalgic stay, but clean. There was too much to waste my time and their’s telling them about everything because it would been impossible to take care of during our stay. The home just really needs a good deep cleaning: floors shampooed, couches, all cabinets, walls etc cleaned. The location and property were secluded, but in a wonderful location.

Little get away

I gave it 5 stars and my three dogs would give it 5 paws or bones! It was great being away from everybody, but close to everything we wanted to do. The owners were easy to get ahold of and to talk too! I would definitely recommend this place to people visiting. If we ever get the chance to go back I will be booking it again. Always nice to find a place that doesn’t have a pet fee!!

Nothing short of fantastic

We found this by accident as we normally use alternatives but we are so glad that we did. We changed our plans due to the weather in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico and although we were going to South Dakota, we were not intending staying long. This place is amazing and we would have loved to have stayed longer than five days. We are familiar with old houses (we live in one) but the history of this and the family was lovely. We enjoyed the space, peace and quiet, fires in the evening, wildlife in the morning and the solitude and safety that Kiddville afforded us. We changed our plans yet again to ensure that we saw the sights that we had come for but also had downtime at the house. Tip for travellers, go to Mt Rushmore at 3.30 and then Crazy Horse on the way back. There were very few people at either, none at Crazy Horse and we spent all of the day just hanging out at the house. We had no need for AC as the house is cool, we just left the windows to ventilate. The bed is super comfortable and there is everything that we needed to live here. Not one person has left a review in the guest book that is anything but complimentary which tells you everything that you need to know. We had the pleasure of meeting Kay (sorry we missed you Patricia) and finding out further details of her life here and family. We seriously mean it when we say that we will be back as we would love to come back for an update of Crazy Horse development. Communication was fabulous and the house is marvellous.
