The hotel was clean, but tattered and very dated and plain. However, rates were very reasonable for area. But the staff at the front desk were surly and, at times, were downright rude. There was one exception, a fellow during the evening. I don't have his name but I believe he was middle eastern. The manager was especially unpleasant.

This hotel is tired, but staff was friendly, and the location was perfect for attending the Ohana Festival (onsite parking and walking distance, can't be beat). The price, for the conditon, etc. was insane, but I am well aware we were paying festival prices. I would stay here again for Ohana.

We enjoyed our harbor view room and have been staying here on and off for about 40 years. It is a great location right on the harbor. I recommend booking a stay while they are still here.

It seemed pretty apparent to us that someone is about to tear down the Dana Point Marina Inn and replace it with something much nicer. It would be so simple to fix and update some of the elements of these rooms, yet it looks like nothing in these rooms has been touched in 40 years. First off, the location is excellent and the front desk staff is outstanding! That said, the condition of these rooms is sub-par. Rust colored streaks stream from the bath tub faucet, black substances grow along the baseboards of the bathroom, light bulbs glow uncovered, and furniture pieces from your grandmother's house sports scratches and bruises to let you know just how old they are. The hot tub was a nice temperature, and we enjoyed the pool, but the condition of the actual building was poor. I would recommend skipping the hotel breakfast, and wander off to a local coffee shop instead. If you're just going to stay a night or two, it's fine, but this is no luxury stay.

Great Location

This hotel is in a great location if you like to walk. There are places to walk along the marina area, to Doheny State Park, Dana Cliff's area and to local restaurants. The hotel charged $15 per night parking which as worth it since there are jo other options. The hotel Is older but the standard king I had was roomy and had a lot of areas to store things. The walls are thin so you can hear neighbors. The included breakfast was good. The hotelmis older and set for demolition sometime next year. The staff was accommodating and will stay again if the orice is right

Do not stay here

Location is good but the hotel is old & needs remodeling. Rooms are not clean &,feel dirty, Room smelt of mildew. Bathroom ventilation is appalling. HVAC is decades oldBreakfast Is included but awful. Dining room area is like a bad canteen. Will not stay at again nor recommend to anyone.
