The property itself is perfect, especially if you’re planning on being in Death Valley a few days. The only thing to know is that the Wi-Fi on property can be a little weak at times depending on where you are. Cellular signal in the park is nearly non-existent so it’s certainly better than nothing at all - just manage you’re expectations here.

No bang for the big bucks.

Our rooms were in Building 800 - downwind from the stables. The corridor reeked from the barn odors. Not sure how the rooms didn't have the smell. The rooms were dated (think 1980s). Evidently wash clothes are not used in Death Valley unless you ask for them. There were no drinking glasses and the coffee cup still had residue from the previous users. Very disappointing - no bang for the buck; expected much more.

While the property area was beautiful and well kept, the room needs maintenance. The Saloon restaurant was very good. The buffet left a lot to be desired: food had been sitting for a long time so it was dry, French toasts were hard, undercooked sausage ….

Horrible check in waiting line. Walls of room and the adjoining door between rooms allows a lot of noise and definitely needs some care and attention. Overall, the only place to stay in DV and still an oasis from the desert heat!

Very relaxing with adequate dinning and nice souvenir shop. My room shower handle fell into the tub, and it was quite challenging to take a shower without proper control of the hot & cold valve. Reported the issue to the front desk but it didn't get fix during my 2-day stay at the Ranch! I asked them to waive the resort fee of $40 as a courtesy to me the Customer.

Great location in the middle of Death Valley. Many attractions were within a few minutes away. Food was great, the grounds were beautiful, and we were thankful for the small convenient store. Would highly recommend this property.

Make sure they have your reservation

Upon arrival, we had no idea where to go to check in. The signs are limited for that. After finding some parking we asked people we saw where check in was (we also got asked by other people during our stay where to check in). The front desk had no records of our reservation even though I had all of the proof from hotels.com. Not sure if that was a hotels.com problem or a ranch problem. After a lot of time and some frustration, the hotel ended up upgrading us to a cottage. The cottage was good space and we liked having the washer/dryer in one. The beds and pillows were not comfortable for the price you pay. The restaurants were ok. It was nice to have everything close. Pool is nice and they have nice courts for basketball and pickleball.

The room was good. Not super clean, but I think the desert makes that difficult to maintain with the dust and all. The food we had on premise was mediocre at best. I guess everything has to be shipped in, but perhaps they could do a better job of sourcing. The staff was mostly decent with a few exceptions. Overall, I’d give it an average rating but due to the expense, I might stay elsewhere next time.
