The house was beautiful and just as advertised, however, on our first night at midnight the carbon monoxide alarm went off and we had to call the fire department to clear the house. It scared the crap out of our kids so it was a while before we could calm them down and get them back to bed after the house was clear. The next night we smelled a gas/exhaust after we all showered, we opened all the windows and aired out the house and called the property managers. They sent a tech out to work on the water heater though we saw the problem quickly, they had the exhaust pipe right next to the fresh air intake pipe... took me five minutes to google the water heater install instructions and see how that was supposed to be installed... definitely not like that. The intake pipe was sucking the exhaust back into the house! The exhaust pipe should have been way above the fresh air intake to prevent that from happening, nice diagrams in the instruction manual if the installer had looked at it lol. The property manages said the alarm had gone off several times over the last year and a half... don't know how it took so long to identify and fix the water heater issue and they are luck that didn’t kill anyone. That pretty much wrecked the first half of our stay, what should have been a relaxing stay turning into kids scared to go to sleep and a wife with anxiety issues and PTSD freaking out about it. Last half of the stay was good, too bad the first half was wrecked.
