Amazing view, and easy beach access! Our family (1 year old, 8 year old, husband) really enjoyed the home. It was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The beach access was easy and safe. There is a cute cafe within walking distance from the house which made for fun breakfast outings.

Wonderful view of the ocean, beach access one house over, somewhat steep set of stairs with 'resting spot'. The community is beautiful to walk thru, park and playground area were a nice plus. A Chester's grocery about a mile south towards Depot Bay. Very comfortable place. There were no plastic glasses for little hands but everything else was great. Would love to stay here again.

Wonderful house with amazing view.

Great stay. Charming neighborhood, and can't beat the view from the living room. You'll fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. They were very responsive with just one issue (previous renters left dog poop on the deck), but it was comfortable and clean.

Spring Break on the Coast

Our family really enjoyed this home for our spring break trip! The views from the top floor are absolutely perfect! The house was clean and very well stocked. Two minor things to consider. First, the beds super comfortable, but the pillows are pretty horrendous. We ended up purchasing our own. Obviously, pillows are very subjective to each person, but if you happen to be partial to your own from home and are travelling by car, we would recommend bringing them. Second, the tires on all the bikes were low/flat and there was no pump in the garage. Fortunately, we have a portable one in our car kit and handled that. Hopefully, other guests either have one or the hosts will provide one in the future. Two minor inconveniences that were very solvable in an otherwise great setting and home!

My Happy Place

Great home in a nice neighborhood with amazing views and beach access. The house was very comfortable and plenty of space. We loved enjoying the ocean waves from the hot tub. The house was spotless and was well stocked, it’s the first time we have never had to purchase spices and basics for cooking. The fireplace was a great perk after hiking and beach combing on cool rainy days. The home is nicely decorated and you just can’t beat the views. There is a grocery store nearby and a cute little cafe in the neighborhood. Located between Depoe Bay and Lincoln City with many beautiful beach access points nearby. We will definitely return.

Fantastic view

We loved the view from the living room. We sat in front of the fire with our family including the dog. Absolutely stunning. The kitchen is well stocked and the master bed was quite comfortable. We will come back!

Great place!

We had a great stay at the Whales Tale. The location and views are exceptional. Kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. The beach access is a very short walk which was a huge plus. We did have a couple minor suggestions. The sliding back door and some windows need screens. The toaster needs to be replaced, only one side worked. Overall this is a great place and we would definitely book again.

Great reviews but some drawbacks.

Upside: good commo with owners and prompt resolution to difficulties operating the TV. Great views and nice beach although lots of people on the beach. Nice and close to Lincoln City and Depo bay restaurants. Adequately stocked for cooking and nice that the cleaners leave spices and cooking oil incoming guests. Downside: Carpet was very dirty and needs to be replaced. The unit is immediately adjacent to an RV Park so dogs barking, and lots of people on the beach. I saw one review that said "very quiet location". That must be a review on a different house. The internet is slow during the day and in the evenings is down to 1-3 Mbps making it quite frustrating to watch a movie. My scanner showed 14 active connections on the router and we were only using 3 phones and one TV. So obviously the internet is shared among other units. Also the water heater must be shared as well as some times it would run out of hot water quickly and sometimes it wouldn't.

Fantastic property in a perfect spot

We booked this unit along with 2 others (one on the lower level and one next door) for a family reunion. The location in Bella Beach is perfect. The unit we were in (Whales Tale) has a stunning view of the ocean and is steps away from the sand. Our unit was in good shape for the most part. The kitchen was very well equipped and clean and the top floor bedroom was quite nice. The washer had a musty smell but front-loaders often do. The lower level needs a refresh. The bathroom is a bit musty and the carpet in both bedrooms is stained. The bedding also needs to be changed out. These are relatively minor issues as the unit was well-maintained for the most part and well-appointed. The check in process from the property management company was seamless. So overall I'd rank the top floor as 5 stars and the lower floor as 4 stars. We would definitely return again and hope that the lower level gets some updating.

Simply delightful

We had a wonderful weekend at Whale Tale. Very clean, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything you would need. Note, the hot tub can accommodate two people at one time. If you have small children, I would bring a gate for the top of the stairs. They are located between the living room and kitchen. The view was priceless!

Great location, quite and comfy

Nice place overall. My three observations are, washing machine is covered in mold which lowers the cleanliness rating for me as I’m not a fan of mold washed sheets and towels. Second, the kitchen supplies are weak. If you plan to cook much, you have limited tools, and those available are very low quality, some of the utensils are cheap dollar store grade plastic that melt when used. Lastly, the router is tucked away at the furthest end of the house in the garage leaving a weak single upstairs. I was constantly kicked from Teams/Zoom calls which was extremely frustrating.

Overall the place was great and comfortable! You cannot beat the location or the view. Quiet area as well with easy access to the beach. Good amount of space for 6 people comfortably. Biggest downside for us this time around was one of the bedrooms downstairs did not feel like it has been cleaned and there was hair all over the sheets so had to wash them right away. The upstairs bathroom also had hair all over the mat and in the shower so we had to clean those too. Upstairs space is beautiful and felt clean. Downstairs space felt like it could use a little love. Again, a great place overall. Management was very responsive when I did text. Kitchen has everything you really could need. The pictures show a leather couch but this was not there…there was a blue fabric couch which maybe was added for extra sleeping. Loved the balconies! Would come again!
