Great location and a way cool place with great views and just a short walk to pretty much everything Depoe Bay has to offer. The ocean is at your back door and you can throw a rock and hit the best Thai food restaurant I’ve been too in years!! Only issue we ran into was a dishwasher that didn’t work. Management responded quickly and was very apologetic but they were unable to address it during our stay but it was the weekend so that’s understandable and was not an issue. I only mention it as reassurance to future guests that management is quick to respond to messages and that’s a plus. The living room TV uses a Roku but requires the use of 2 remotes to operate. It can be confusing and it would be nice if management invested a little money in an upgraded unit using just one remote for both Roku AND TV. Last but not least is my recommendation that guests bring their own TP. What’s furnished is just cheap single-ply and that can
..shall we say
.leave something that’s not to be desired. All in all I highly recommend Whale Vista. I know we will be back!!

. Views and location were gorgeous! I don’t believe the dishwasher actually works. Washed two loads. Never put first load away, just added and tried again. Laundry room was great! The blinds in the living room need replaced. Could not lower one set once raised. Beautiful home but broken blinds we had to fight with was a pain. The room downstairs needs a curtain or blind on the door leading out to deck. Had to hang a sheet for privacy. All that being said
we would definitely stay again!

The views from this rental are spectacular! The house is stuffed with interesting antiques and art. The furniture is quite worn. The kitchen had no workable fry pan so we bought one. The host was responsive when we said the last guest’s dog had pooped every where outside (which we inadvertently stepped in). In/out instructions, which we weren’t given, should include the expectation that people clean up after their pets. Otherwise, housekeeping should check for dog messes.

We loved this home. The view is spectacular. The location--walking distance to Depoe Bay--is great. The furnishings are very nice. The back deck is an amazing place to spend time, even in the winter! We will definitely return.

Great views but lackluster property

What a beautiful view and great location. It has so much potential to be a 5 star experience. It was a clean place, but many things were out of service including the fireplace, washing machine, broken blinds, missing curtains, floor boards coming up, and an ant problem. With an extended 5 day stay we had counted on being able to do laundry, it would behoove the host to be transparent about the status of the home. It was a great location and the views are incredible, a great outdoor viewing area. I would not stay in this specific spot again, the host was communicative and did give us a small compensation (8% percent of the total cost). Yet the host was unable to mitigate or fix anything during the stay. If you are looking for a cabin like experience that is cozy this home is up your alley. Overall, it could use some TLC yet I understand why owners wouldn’t want to invest in a short term rental property.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Kitchen is a bit small but adequate for our needs. If you're cooking, bring your own storage containers, foil and saran wrap. We made due with one roll of paper towels. Bring your own spices. View is phenomenal, and all bedrooms have an ocean view. We experienced a sugar ant invasion in the upstairs and downstairs southern bedrooms, which was gross. Downstairs tub and kitchen sink drip. There are stairs that must be climbed to access the front door. Except for deck area, outside not well maintained but may be time of year with winter storms just in rearview mirror: long grass/weeds, dead tree in pot, broken statuary, siding missing in back, debris on front patio and path. Furniture is an eclectic mix, some with obvious wear and tear but home was comfortable (please note, due to its height, the King bed needs limber folks to climb in). We had fun playing games, sharing meals and exploring the area. Fenced backyard for dogs is great but our little dog enjoys a good safari, and she found her way under the deck. Being completely honest, could due with a little refresh but somewhat expected due to price and age of home.

Great views and wonderful for dogs.

An amazing place for a great price. Perfect for small to medium dogs. Yard is small but very well fenced. Beautiful views. Beds are comfy with plenty of spare blankets. The upstairs bathroom is wonderful and there are lots of fluffy towels. My one hope is that the downstairs bathroom gets some loving soon. Plenty of dishes for cooking and eating. We had a wonderful time and plan on coming back to this property in the Fall.

FAB 4 Girls Getaway

The location and views are amazing. The daily sounds of the ocean and the bird life make this a relaxing place to just sit on the deck and sip on a cocktail while taking in the spectacular Oregon coastline. The home is decorated quaint and old fashioned (vintage decor). The kitchen amenities and conditions of some parts of the home could use some additional attention and TLC but the management and owners have been made aware. They were responsive and apologized for any inconvenience. We still had a wonderful stay because of the location and we would highly recommend the home as long as people understand it is not "pristine."

The location is perfect but the house has seen better days. The furnishings need to be updated. You need to be 6’ tall to use the king bed. It is an old waterbed somebody put a regular mattress in and is so far off the floor I needed a step stool. The downstairs tub has had a water leak for so long it has worn all the enamel off the tub. The dishwasher doesn’t even get itself clean. The linens are old and thin. But having said all that, the view and location are wonderful. Maybe look at a house on either side.

Lovely home

What a quaint Craftsman style home with amazing views. We loved waking up with the ocean views and within walking distance to the shops and harbor. I wish we saw whales though as that would make it epic.

Unique house. Great location

We were charmed by the very eclectic house once we got up the ton of stairs with our luggage. ( We knew about that so it was fine) The location was really nice. Very close to town. Right on the water. Everything we needed was there. There were a couple things that were a bit substandard like the propane grill was all rusty, a few of the blinds were kind of hodge podge and the one in the upstairs bedroom was the wrong type for a siding glass door and someone had trouble with it in the past and was all messed up. The kitchen is very small but we made it work. The view fantastic. Beautiful sunsets ever night. We enjoyed ourselves and the property
