When a place advertises sleeps 10 4 bedroom you presume 5 beds and 10 plates and saucers. 4 beds does not translate to 10 adults, so good thing 4 guys is all that came to the trade show. Ran dishwasher every meal to keep up for next meal. Also mentioning needing your own streaming log ins should be in the information as more houses are on the market with no basic tv available. Otherwise clean, plenty hot water, could use extra blankets for those used to having the weight at home. Just be sure to ask all the questions. Safe area and fit our needs.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It had enough room for all of us and Dan was super helpful and kind for letting us get checked in earlier since our flight came in that morning. We felt very safe in that neighborhood and noticed a lot of people out walking. Including us walking to the grocery store to pick up some items. It is also close and easy to get to the hospital and restaurants as well. We will definitely keep this house in mind if we ever need a safe place to stay in Des Moines. Oh, but you may want to put some ice trays in the freezer. But everything else was great! Thank you so much Dan!

We were looking for a comfortable place to stay with family while visiting Des Moines for a special occasion. This house was spacious, with 4 bedrooms and plenty of space for hosting a meal. The location was perfect - central to many shops, restaurants, etc. Dan was a fabulous host and attentive to all of our needs. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay. The house is comfortable and in a great location. There wasn’t a pack and play available for our daughter to sleep in but we were able to borrow one from a friend. It got a little chilly at night, I think just because the house is older, but we brought warm pajamas and were fine. We would stay here again!

Lovely Beaverdale Stay

Our family had a very nice time at this property! We were able to spend quality time together with one another and friends. The house was clean and well maintained. We had an odd issue that was out of the control of the owner. But he responded quickly and offered possible alternatives to help us. We would highly recommend!!

Quaint Home away from Home

We loved this property. The only issues we had were the beds were not as comfortable as we would have liked. The king-size bed mattress was wrapped in some kind of plastic or other material that made it very hot for my husband. It was just very uncomfortable and too hard for our taste. We found the one in the back bedroom the most tolerable. The other issue was there were a lot of flies and little nit like flies in the house. It seemed like they came out of nowhere no matter how many we were able to kill. Otherwise, great location, property and management.

We had 8 of us in town to see a show in Des Moines, and this house was perfect! Exactly as described and had all the amenities that are listed for the property! Also who is your designer? Asking for me!! Haha!

Disappointing Stay with Serious Issues**

While this property has a lot of potential due to its beautiful design and location, our stay was marred by multiple significant issues that cannot be overlooked. 1. **Safety Concerns**: The back door knob was broken, making it impossible to open, which posed a serious fire hazard. It also meant we couldn't access the barbecue grill, which was disappointing. 2. **Severe Kitchen Issues**: The kitchen sink was leaking, and it’s clear this is not a new problem. The area around it was rotted, and towels were stuffed under the sink to absorb the water. This created a terrible odor and was a breeding ground for flies. The smell was unbearable at times. 3. **Fly Infestation**: The fly problem throughout the house was disgusting. We had to purchase fly traps just to manage it, which is not something you should have to deal with while on vacation. 4. **Filthy Living Room Furniture**: The living room couch was in terrible condition. It looked dirty and smelled strongly of old cigarette smoke, which made it uncomfortable to relax in the space. 5. **Persistent Odor**: The entire house had a horrible smell that worsened after a few hours of being in the space. While there were numerous deodorizers placed around the home, they only masked the smell temporarily. By the next day, the odor was unbearable again. 6. **Overall Cleanliness**: While the house is beautiful, it was shockingly dirty. The rugs, baseboards, and corners were g

Perfect staff retreat location

This was a great location for our staff retreat. It served as a "home base" for our staff as we took part in activities around town and in neighboring Ames and Boone. Also great, peaceful local neighborhood. Very responsive host. Cute, vintage home with updatesinthe important ateas.

Home away from home

This house truly is charming. There is so much space yet they’ve made it feel so cozy and comforting. Every room is large, beautifully decorated, and clean. My family was only there for a quick night and we were sad we couldn’t stay longer! The neighborhood is quiet and safe -just what we needed for a place to rest our heads while road tripping.
