Overall, our stay at The Inn on Destin Harbor was nice, and I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars. We requested an early check-in for 11 a.m. since we were in town for an event starting at 4 p.m. We arrived in the area before 10 a.m. after flying into Pensacola and driving to Destin, but our early check-in request was denied. Regular check-in is at 3 p.m., but we weren’t actually able to get into our room until 3:30 p.m., which was frustrating given our schedule. I had also requested bottles of champagne, and while the request was approved, we never received them. We later learned that we were supposed to pick them up at the onsite bar. We weren’t charged, but with our event timeline, this miscommunication added more inconvenience. On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable, and our harbor-view room had a beautiful view. The room itself could use a fresh coat of paint on the ceiling, as it was starting to chip, but it didn’t affect our stay. The continental breakfast offered a good variety of options, and the location was very convenient for our event. Overall, not a bad stay—just a few service and communication issues that kept it from being great.

Beautiful harbor view. Some of the most comfortable beds and pillows we’ve ever had at a hotel. Being able to take out kayaks on the bay without a rental fee was awesome. Loved the friendly staff also.

The people at the front counter were super nice. Location was great and the view from the pool area was amazing. The hotel could definitely need some updating. I do suggest getting a water view, other wise you can hear ALL the traffic noise all hours. The AC units in the room are pretty loud. And we couldn’t get the hot water to get hot in the shower. Luckily we were only there 1 night so it wasn’t a major issue since we had a 7am flight.
