Surprising little gem

Pet friendly roadside motel. Just what we needed for the night. Pulling up to the property made us question our decision. Looks a little rundown. We were surprised to find a spotless room! Far cleaner than chain hotels! They have no contact check in, and it was easy to get into the room.

This is, indeed, a motel for sportsmen. Our room had a backwoods theme, but was also prepped for folks coming in from a day in the backwoods. I think it’s being upgraded room by room (lots of building supplies blocking a couple of rooms), and kudos to whoever is taking in what seems to be a labor of love. The motel is not actually in Dorchester- don’t let Google misdirect you- and is quite isolated, so bring your own breakfast. But it’s also in the heart of the Driftless, which is a wonderful place to visit.

Was in town to kayak and the motel was like 5 minutes away from the shuttle so it was very conveniently located. Room was clean. Shower was nice. Bed was comfy. Only complaint I have is the walls are very thin and when the neighbors checked in kinda late with their energetic kid, well there was no sleeping through that. If they insulated the rooms a bit better, id have given it 5 stars. Also, while we didnt go into dorchester (so i could be wrong) i didnt see a gas station in town on google maps, so make sure you plan accordingly.

Love the cabin feel of the motel. Only thing I noticed was you could really hear everything going on in the neighboring room. Wakes must be very thin but there really isn’t much you can do with that now except a remodel. I would definitely stay again, place was great

We enjoyed our brief stay at this motel. It was very clean and warm. The beds had new mattresses, so they were uncomfortable.
