I did not receive instructions on checking in my email from what the website said would happen a couple days prior. So, I contacted the host via email and phone. I received no response from the email I sent and the host's phone number was some place on totally wrong number. Needless to say, I had to contact VRBO to get contact info to contact the host again to check in. The phone number they gave me was a call center with a very rude woman who basically said don't call us unless it's after 4pm and acted like my question for checking in was the most idiotic question she's heard. She also said the office for checking in closes at 4pm, but my checking time is 4pm. I was so confused. In addition, she said that I should find the office at the place where I'm staying which was entirely wrong. When I got to the gates community where I was staying, they told me to turn around and go in another direction to get checked in. Luckily, the office was open until 5pm. I did get checked in and I followed directions on how to get to the place inside the gated community. I was very distraught at this point, but our place was very clean and everything in the place did work well. The A/C, oven, stove, fridge, etc. Everything but the toaster worked, but that was minor. We enjoyed our stay and check out was thankfully easy.
