Noise Complaint

I stayed in Room 203, which is located next to the facility and equipment room. Unfortunately, the entire night was extremely noisy due to this equipment, and I was unable to sleep. I reported this issue to the reception staff during my stay, but no solution was provided. I also left my phone number and email address for follow-up, but I have not received any response. This experience was very disappointing, especially considering I paid £263 for the booking.

Room was fine apart from view from window was of flat roof shed! Back of sink all pipes and electric exposed as shelf wasn’t fitted. Corridor ceiling had plaster board sheet over hole in ceiling. Many of the light bulbs were not working in the lights. Breakfast was good and staff were pleasant.

Very expensive overnight stay in what was basically a very dated hotel which is in need of refurbishment. TV was on the wall to side of beds making it awkward to watch and left looking at an open cupboard (with no doors) housing ironing boards etc at end of beds. Stains on the carpet, no lift to upper floors and duct tape on communal stairs. Paintwork was scraped away and what looked like mould on window ledge. No fan in the room so we were roasting all night. Staff friendly and welcoming on arrival and at breakfast. The hotel was in a quiet area of edinburgh with a nice view. Breakfast was ok but coffee in room and at breakfast was awful. Wouldn't stay again for £289 paid.

An average hotel

Staff were very friendly but the hotel is in need of a refurbishment. We had a small room at the back overlooking a car park but other rooms were much bigger/nicer. A good option for a budget hotel slightly outside of the tourist attractions.

Slow check in where I had to phone the hotel before reception staff appeared - call bells on desk obviously havent worked for years and could be replaced. Room is spacious & clean, dated. The hotel used to be one of the local top hotels in the city and is showing its age - green stair carpet badly needs replaced as each step is worn

From the outside the hotel is charming but the rooms are very tired with bubbling wallpaper and paint chipping off the base boards, the shower base also flooded and had to be stopped half way through. The staff were exceptional

Cosy, comfortable, pleasant

Lovely room with view over park. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Breakfast was good - plenty of choice. Dinner was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is looking a bit tired and could do with a bit of a freshen up but otherwise everything was fine. Good transport links into Edinburgh and handy for the bypass if travelling further afield. Would definitely come back again.
