During our first night, half of the building, including our room, had no power. This meant we couldn’t charge our devices, which was particularly inconvenient given our short two-day stay. When we raised the issue, we were advised to sit in the hotel lobby to charge our devices — hardly an acceptable solution when you're on limited vacation time. We were provided with an email address for the manager, but after sending two emails and a follow-up, we received no response. The lack of communication and accountability from management was incredibly unprofessional and deeply disappointing.
While the space itself was lovely, the hospitality was lacking, and the experience left us stressed during our time in Edinburgh. Fortunately, we were headed to the Highlands and didn’t have to stay long. For a property to ignore guests during a power outage — even for one night — is simply unacceptable. As a frequent traveler, I would caution others: if something goes wrong, don’t expect meaningful support or communication from this establishment.
