We started of riding in a train 6 hours from London thinking we’d be at our amazing hotel. Well when we got there they advised us they overbooked the hotel and sent us to another hotel which was a downgrade. They didn’t try to do anything to fix the issue just said they made accommodations elsewhere. When we arrived at that new hotel we waited for over an hour for them to find any booking for us. This was the hotel we were looking forward to stay but never even got to check in. I will never be returning to this hotel especially when I’ve had this reservation for months.

This is a lovely traditional style hotel beside the train station and walking distance to airport bus and city centre.The staff especially Jessica at reception were extremely hospitable arranging an upgrade to a suite. The beds were comfy, room nice and warm an a big walk in push button shower. The bar staff were very obliging giving us buckets of ice and Ivor the concierge was very knowledgable advising us on the layout of the city its architecture and the best restaurants etc. All in all we had a lovely stay at the Scotsman and would highly recommend.

Superb hotel, full of character in such an excellent location. We even had a room with turret. Lovely staff, very helpful. You defiantly get what you pay for with this hotel, 60 seconds walk from the Royal Mile.

Wonderful stay

The room and views of the old city an the lounge on barr with its balconies and tall marble pillars makes the the scotsman hotel unique all so it's retro cinema this was ower second time we stayed at this beautiful old building in the old city of Edinburgh and looking forward to ower next visit in the near future

Absolutely Lovely

My boyfriend and I loved our stay at The Scotsman. The location is incredibly convenient, only steps away from Edinburgh Waverly station, and close to all the sights. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, especially our receptionist who upgraded us and allowed us to check in early. We loved our spacious room, and actually looked forward to heading back to it after long days of sightseeing. It was so bright and airy, in contrast with the often gloomy weather. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. The bathroom was quite large, and the amenities were great. Everything felt luxurious. We only got to enjoy breakfast once, but it was quite nice. We wished we could have stayed longer and enjoyed a movie in the theater, or worked out in the gym. If we ever return to Edinburgh, we would not hesitate to book here again.
