The hotel was lovely and the staff were very welcoming. The rooms have just been very tastefully renovated. We were travelling on a motorbike so it was good to have near by food and drinks right behind the hotel in walking distance plus the lake was very picturesque and peaceful - would highly recommend staying here
The location is great. And the property is being renovated . Great BBC etc . Room was a real surprise given a last minute booking and was basically brand new.
Arrived late afternoon, check in was fine- quick and courteously done inside the small reception area.
Our room was clean but slightly musty, which was quickly replaced by cigarette smoke from the tenants next door smoking outside his room (perhaps a designated smoking area should be added)
The bathroom was just adequate with no vanity inside it- the kitchen sink was also the vanity.
The bed was okay but the linen was due for replacement and the pillows well overdue for replacement
The bathroom had no windows and an extraction fan with no insect screen which allowed mosquitoes in
We were tired from travelling, so the sleep was good except for the plumbing noises coming through the pipes!
I understand that the renovations have not yet finished. The smoke alarm was disabled (dangerous) and the bedside lights were not working (annoying). Other than that, it was excellent.
Continental breakfast was advertised but was not available, the few shops in town were closed Mon.or Tuesday, and nothing available for evening meals,we had to drive back to snobs creek hotel for a evening meal, not convenient ,we are in our 80s.
We stayed in Eildon on a Tuesday night and there was nowhere to eat, we ended up with microwave meals back in our room.
If you can't do step,s request a ground floor as the steps up to level one are very steep and narrow,
