Avoid This Hotel

If this were a cheap hostel then the initial non-working toilet, broken fridge, door not closing to bathroom, threadbare carpet, barely no lights on the stairway to second floor, the overall sense of a room that needed cleaning, loud TV noise from lounge below at midnight (by the manager watching TV), so-called orange juice for breakfast (which was watered down orangeade) then all of this would be expected at a cheap price. However, this was not at a cheap price and the amount charged was in fact more at Lupama than the amount charged at better hotels in town and walkable to restaurants (which we went to and forfeited our non-refundable prepaid night at Lupama). In short: Avoid.

Friendly staff, clean large rooms

the rooms were very large and clean. The bathroom was also modern and clean. The staff were very friendly and let us leave our bags there after we checked out. The pool was not very nice looking so that was a bit disappointing, and the hotel is a bit out of town from the restaurants, but the hotel staff and modern rooms and amenities make up for it.

Wonderful staff. Small pool was great to relax in. Double bad was 2 singles and mattresses constantly slipped so sleep was very uncomfortable

Decent Place

This is a decent place when you need a clean bed and a friendly staff. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The place is a bit of a hike, but a pleasant one, from the heart of El Calafate. We coincided at Lupama on 12/31 and participated in their New Year's Eve party. Lots of fun.

Review of Lupama Hostel

Lupama Hotel is a reasonably priced, clean, functional hotel which provides the traveller with everything they need for a comfortable stay in El Calafate. Sophie went out of her way to sort out the situation with my baggage which had been "lost" by the airline. I'll happily recommend this accommodation to others.

Confotable place!!

Atention, cleanliness, services war great! The only inconvinience I need to mention are: - No cable TV at room all our stay. - Cant pay with credit card. - Distan from Calafate's main street is about 15min walking and taxi charges $8 pesos + o - one way. In general our stay was really confortable and the people at reception have always a big smile and good actitud for serving us. But, the 3 lines above should be mention to next clients or in the webpage.
