It was extremely peaceful and magical. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. From waking up to the sound of the river, and we actually got to meet several fawns. It was great. I thought my kids would be bored, but everyday was a great adventure for them. We will be back.
River Bear Lodge is a beautiful, very spacious cabin-we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 3 nights was not long enough, I wish we could have stayed longer to see more of the area, I could have just stayed at the cabin for days without leaving. The owners, Deana and Jason, were so nice, and easy to get in touch with. I carried things that we use daily, but it wasnât necessary, as they had the cabin stocked well. I have not the first bad thing to say about this cabin and the owners. And we all (especially the grand babies) got a kick out of seeing the many deer on the way in and a bear in our driveway. We would stay here again for sure. :) I didnât get many pictures without people in them lol but here are a few.
Wonderful Cabin Stay in North Georgia! We had a great time staying at this beautiful cabin in the North Georgia mountains! The house was clean, spacious, and very well-stockedâperfect for our group of 14. The owners were excellent with communication and made the entire process smooth and stress-free.There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A few things to be aware of: the steps down to the river are quite steep and may be difficult for some guests, and the drive up the mountain is a bit precarious, especially at night. Also, while the listing mentions resort amenities, itâs important to know they are about 25 minutes away, and the included access is only for 8 guests. Additional passes would need to be purchased for a larger group like ours, which wasnât clear upfront.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cabin for a relaxing mountain getawayâjust be sure to plan ahead for the resort access and the terrain!
Beautiful cabin! Had everything we needed.Hosts were available whenever we needed them.We will definitely be back next year!Only suggestion would be a cornhole set.
We had a wonderful stay at the River Bear Lodge. The house is even nicer than the photos. The kids loved having the river in the back. We found so many fun things to do close by including white river rafting, tubing and hiking. One thing I will mention is that if you are renting a car to come here you might want to consider an awd vehicle. My sister rented a small sedan and had trouble on some of the hills. We would definitely stay here again!
We were meeting group of friends and family for a vacation we take every year. 6 adults and 6 kids. The neighborhood was difficult to navigate. Roads were steep and two cars didnât make it up the first try. The neighborhood was pretty with deer everywhere. But took about 20 minutes of navigation through the neighborhood before we got to the house. The house was very nice but there were about 50 plus stairs to the creek were very steep. Several in the party couldnât make it and we couldnât just let the kids go down to the creek. We stayed in the master suite which was nice but very noisy when others walked around or used the bathroom upstairs. Our biggest issue was we were charged for a piece that fell off the table when we arrived. We were using the table properly, no horseplay.. a crossbar came off the bench. We were eating and just set it aside. We were informed we would be charged 75 for the table because we did not notify them right away. With a group of 12, that was not our top priority. When I communicated this with the host I was told that because we had contacted about no laundry detergent or kitchen spray we should have mentioned the table. It really had slipped my mind. I felt like I was being admonished like a child. It really put a damper on the whole trip and we will not be staying at this house again.
Fantastic property. Included common items around the cabin that were not expected, basic spices, sandwich bags, even tubes for the river. Great WiFi. Overall great stay. Would recommend.
Our group had such a great time staying here over a long weekend. The house was very well stocked, super clean, and had plenty of space for all. If youre looking for some time in the mountains, this is a perfect spot!
9 moms on a 50th bday getaway. The cabin was clean and organized! We enjoyed the outdoor area on the porch the most. Loved the three levels w plenty of space for everyone to get ready. Kitchen was fully stocked w every dish, pot and utensils one could need for breakfast, lunch or dinner prep.. The river was gorgeous. Great host. Quick to respond. mist
This is the best rental weâve ever stayed. Home was immaculately clean, well stocked. We donât have a single complaint. Owners definitely thought through everything to insure you have a wonderful time. We had ages 6 months to 60âs and everyone loved. We played in river at house, enjoyed hot tube and picnics on deck. In evenings we roasted marshmallows on deck fireplace. We had 2 days of cold and rain. There is a very nice indoor community pool kids enjoyed. One day we went to park on river and went hiking. The game room on lower level was really enjoyed.
Love the views. The river is amazing. Front porch fire place had a ton of activity. Greatful that the hosts think of small detials and it came in handy! Would recommend.
Overall home was clean, organized and many things provided as well as everything very well labeled to make finding things super easy. Only downsides were mentioned in other reviews. Last portion of road is gravel (two hills were pretty rough from cement truck traffic). It is a good hike from house to water. We would definitely stay here again or any other home by this host.
We had a wonderful stay and all the amenities you would need to spend time with family. The cabin was in excellent condition and anything you may need in the kitchen. They also provided us with a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree which added to our holiday.
Very nice layout. Has everything you could ever want! Games, nice play area, pool table, nice fire pit, hot tub just the drive to get to the cabin is very scary
Our extended family had a very nice time at this home. Very well appointed with all needs met. Christmas tree added ambiance. We made use of fireplaces in and out and hot tub. The kitchen had most everything we could need as we cooked every day.
Beautiful, quiet location. We had a few questions during our stay and the owners were so quick to respond. We also appreciated all the "extras" that not many owners provide anymore... for example: plenty of toilet paper, several dishwashing pods, a few things of coffee/hot cocoa, large towels for hot tub, etc... Our teens loved the basement space... felt like they had there own guest house down there. We had a great stay!
To start with it was so far to get to the houseand too steep to go down to the creek. My husband and I r 81 and 78. Our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed the creek and fishing. The house was very nice. We all enjoyed the fireplace on the porch
We had a group of friends stay for a long weekend and had an amazing experience. The house is in a beautiful area and we were able to use and enjoy the large porch, outdoor fireplace and hot tub. Jason and Deana made the check in and out process very easy and were available quickly with any questions we had. Would greatly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation away!
My family of 6 (all are 18+) stayed in this beautiful home for 5 nights and we all loved it! It was spacious and completely furnished with everything we needed, and more.Every detail in this home was thought through. We loved being on the river and had a blast hanging out on the deck, grilling out, making a fire in the fire pit, roasting sâmores and just relaxing by the river. We counted deer one day as we drove to the property and counted 41! We visited Elijay, Blue Ridge and Amicalola Falls and all enjoyed our trips. Highly recommend!
River bear lodge is very bucolic with nature surrounding the cabin. The layout of the cabin was exactly as listed on website. Deanna and Jason were great in communicating on our arrival and departure. Will definitely visit again for 2025
We have 6 kids ranging in ages from 11-1 which means the outdoor activities are very important. The distance to the pools was a significant drive and the steps to the river were quite a few which the description does not reflect.
Additionally we had 4 family units and we were expecting, according to the description 7 bedrooms and 5 baths and that was not the case. There were 4 bedrooms plus the loft and 3.5 baths. The amenities were fine but the distance from the cabin made it hard in getting the kids ready and being able to go back and forth to our cabin. It was just too far.
