The hosts were responsive, kind and helpful. The house was gorgeous, and had everything we needed for our stay. The generator was very much appreciated during a power outage. Check out was hassle free. Loved The Lookout!

This house was perfect for four couples. Everyone was able to have their owns space and bathrooms. The house had everything we needed and it was nice to get away from the busy touristy areas. It was very quiet and we were able to do some nice stargazing while we were there. It will be hard to top this property when it comes to functionality and features.

The Lookout is a beautiful home in a peaceful area of Door County, off the beaten path but close enough to the villages to offer convenience and quiet. We loved the extra touches like the coffee bar, pizza oven, bikes, and bathroom amenities. Having ample beds and bathrooms for our family provided privacy and space for all, along with beautifully appointed spaces for dining and visiting together. The property was clean and comfortable, Dan and Ann were communicative and helpful. Had we needed anything, I have no doubt they would have been helpful, however our every need was already met. The art, decor, and extra touches at the home were lovely. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Gorgeous, bright, airy, modern home on the edge of a nature preserve

Our family of 7 was blown away by the beauty of the home itself and the setting on the edge of the Mink River estuary. We have rented many homes over the years and this was easily one of the most enjoyable. Ann and Dan have done a fantastic job. The house is filled with light, super-connected to nature, and amazingly well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. A few highlights (of many) were the stunning tile showers with skylights and plants, the third floor lookout, the incredible kitchen, and the Ooni pizza oven on the back patio. The home is located in an ultra-quiet area near Ellison Bay and is convenient to all of Northern Door County (Northport and Gill's Rock, Sister Bay, Ephraim, etc.). We had an amazing time in this home and will definitely book it again in the future.

Family (Parents with 3 adult children) get-together for July 4 weekend

We greatly enjoyed the lovely natural setting of this property - beautiful trees, prairie grass and daisies, plus the visiting birds. The inside is equally lovely - modern furnishing, spaciously comfortable areas for gathering and playing games, as well as quiet areas for reading. Large ensuite bedrooms with beautiful bathrooms and huge shower space. Also loved the well-equipped kitchen with big counter and long dining table. And had a magnificently clear view of the stars from the balcony because the house is situated away from the city lights. We wished we had more time to take advantage of all the amenities - firepit, smoker, s'more, BBQ, games, etc.! Will definitely book this place again when we come back this way. One of us was so inspired by the bird journal in the house and all the bird visiting the bird feeders that she began to research birds in earnest! We had wondered how it might work with this property not being in the center of the popular spots, but very glad to have chosen it - very quiet and peaceful setting and yet a short drive to Sister Bay, Ephraim, etc. Ann and Dan are awesome hosts - quick in responding to questions, attentive to details such as providing guidebooks, binoculars, folding chairs (for watching fireworks), snacks, and lots of games. Thank you! We all had a most delightful time and highly recommend this property!

Five Stars!!

The Lookout was the perfect spot for our family trip to Door County! The home has a spacious contemporary design with beautiful finishes and features large windows that make nature the star of the show. Just a short drive to Lake Michigan, Ellison Bay and Sister Bay made the location convenient to many of our favorite spots. After a full day it was so nice to come back to enjoy a quiet fire and some star gazing. The hosts thought of every detail to make our stay perfect. Such a cool place, highly recommend!!

Celebrating family in the most beautiful place!

We have stayed in many places in our times of travel and this one is in the top 3 of the best places ever. We felt everything was accurate to description. The bathrooms were so nice and my daughter loved the colors she could change the light to. Never seen her so excited for a shower each night. The beds were so comfortable and we all felt at home. The view out back was a dream and we loved the gas fireplace to end each night as a family. I miss that the most! We got to see the northern lights and the comet this weekend. The fall colors were amazing and there are so many trails to hike in the back yard. This will be the most special trip for our entire family for years to come!

Couples retreat

4 couples stayed for a long weekend. The residence is secluded, but within 10-15 minutes of multiple communities. The home was just as the pics showed. Very contemporary and sleek. Each couple had their own bedroom. There is plenty of room for children to sleep if needed. Kitchen was welll stocked for cooking. 2 fire pits were very nice. We had two couples with asthma. Magical Stay at The Lookout

We had an absolutely wonderful 3-night stay at The Lookout. The setting of the property is magical on beautiful private wooded acreage surrounded by trails and the bird estuary. The home itself is modern, clean, new and spacious. The large windows and minimalist design bring the outdoors in and provide a tranquil vibe. The hosts thought of everything - the coffee bar was amazing and the kitchen fully equipped for cooking - ample pans, dishes, utensils, etc. The 5 full bathrooms were all uniquely designed with enormous walk-in showers. There is a lookout at the top of the home that provided amazing views and fabulous star gazing. The property is near the dark sky zone and we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights from the back balcony. Being fairly centrally located, it was a quick drive to the Washington Island ferry, Newport Beach to paddle board, Sister Bay for dinner and sunsets, Fish Creek for shopping and Ephraim for ice cream! We cannot wait to return!

Fantastic Family Vacation at the Lookout!

My family had a wonderful family vacation at the Lookout in Door County this weekend. The home itself is absolutely beautiful and perfectly laid out for a larger family to stay together. Dan and Ann could not have been more welcoming or helpful throughout the entire check in process and stay. Everything was thought of from extra coffee keurigs to all the pots and pans needed to cook our meals together in the stunning and fully functional kitchen. The kids loved the bunk room and it was close enough to the other 2 master suites on the upper level that we still felt close by. I have already touched base with Ann for our return trip for 2025! Can't wait to come back!

Family time in Door County

Modern and well equipped, , "The Lookout" is better than advertised. This new home is comfortable, warm, and perfect for our family gathering. We loved the view of the woods from every room and watched the birds from the great room. We also played games at the giant table, and had room for some down time when needed. The location is private and extremely quiet, yet close enough to Fish Creek, Elison Bay, and all of our favorite Door County attractions. Our hosts were great and highly recommend.

Great Stay

We stayed here for a bachelorette party. There was plenty of space for our whole group. The house is beautiful and has everything you need for a great weekend, including an ooni pizza oven! We enjoyed being a little further out but it is still very close to sister bay.

Fantastic property in the woods

We had a wonderful stay with family and our 6-month-old son. The hosts were attentive and accommodating to all of our needs and went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice time. The house is great for groups and was well thought out, and the overall property had a nice quiet secluded feel. There were amazing hiking trails that connected directly to the backyard, yet it was a short drive into some of our favorite towns in Door County. Just a cool place overall!

Quiet Beauty

We chose this property last minute because our vacation ended up being canceled. I’m amazed that it was available! Such a beautiful home on a beautiful piece of land! I will say that I’m somewhat of a snob when it comes to where I stay. If the home isn’t as nice as my own, what’s the point? That was not a problem here. The owners were very friendly and attentive. I’ve found that a lot of the rentals lose that if the owners use a booking company. A few extras to note
this place has some amazing bird watching, and there’s a cute little toy tree house for kids.

Amazing property

We had the most amazing time staying in this beautiful, modern, new construction home. The property was truly a slice of heaven. We enjoyed watching the birds and relaxing on the beautiful patio and deck. The design of the home was thoughtful and perfectly executed. We can't wait to go back!
