Beautiful view of the lake, deck is nice but there was no deck furniture. Open beam across from the loft made us nervous that our grandkids might think it would be fun to try to climb onto and itâs open to the floor below. I donât like fluorescent style light bulbs in every fixture and lamp. Sliding glass door to the screen porch sticks badly. The house is fairly close to the state park campground where the rest of the family was staying so that worked ok for us.
Pros: Plenty of room, decent size bathroom & kitchen- which was decently equipped. Nice enclosed patio. Cobs: Zero outdoor options ( no fire pit, kayaks, cornhole, lake floats etc) so bring your own.
It was very nice to be able to go outside with the screened in porch. View was beautiful. Beds were comfortable and it was a great time. Some did some fishing and only caught two bass.
Very nice place for a fun trip with friends. We wouldnât bring our children again because the amount of stairs is excessive and the beach is pure rocks but they had fun inside the house and porch. The bugs were also horrible inside the porch at night though, should definitely spray for mosquitos and spiders. The spiders were terrifying. Very close to Brookings so we hit up the childrenâs museum. The cabin had everything we needed too so that was very handy
Everything went very well during our stay. I can see how the loft may be uncomfortable in the intense summer heat because there's a single mini split that only really works well on the lower level.
The views here at sunset are great though and it seemed like it lasted for 2 hours.
I would absolutely stay again.
The view was gorgeous. There were a few spider webs inside the space, but that was the least of our worries! There was extreme heat and the air conditioner didnât work well. We had no air conditioning the first night and at 86 degrees the second night. The room was humid. We constantly emptied the dehumidifier and babysat the leaking air conditioner. We worked hard to keep the carpet dry, even though that was impossible. The constant dripping caused splatter and we sacrificed the use of a fan on ourselves to keep on the carpet instead. We were there when the repairman came he said the air conditioner was filthy and the filters were one of the dirtiest heâd seen. He also said the drain hole was filled with debris. We felt half sick and thought it was from a lack of sleep because of the heat with a poor air conditioner. However, we probably were affected by wet, dirty air from a disgusting air conditioner. My 84 year old mother was affected the most. We left one day early and were hoping we would be compensated for our unpleasant and shortened stay that was due to negligence and circumstances beyond our control. Unfortunately, we never heard a thing from the host when we told them we were leaving early.
Cabin was awesome! We really enjoyed the screened in porch and watching the water. It was one of the best-stocked VRBO we've ever stayed in. Everything was so easy to do and use. Will definitely stay again.
The exterior of the house could use a power wash and pest control. Itâs a beach house but the spiders were pretty bad. Inside was very clean. We spent a lot of time out on the deck and kids had a blast. Not the best beach area for small kids to play but they had a ton of fun in the water when weather permitted. Owner was great and even messaged to check in with us one night as there was bad weather.
I was told the day before check in that the screened porch was missing some screens due to a storm.
Was in slightly poor shape.
Ticked boxes but could use some work.
Screened in porch was missing screens.
Wad of hair in tub drain, tub needed caulking upgrade. Beautiful spot on the lake. Everything worked. I had to contact the agent x 2 to get entrance code..
The house was great & it was very clean! We loved the location on the lake. The outdoor screened in area was the best!
We ate most of our meal there. Thank you for sharing your place with us! We will definitely be back!

Every year we do a girl's trip. This was one of our favorite places to stay so far. Every morning we got up, grabbed a book, our coffee and sat on the deck for a couple of hours watching the lake come to life.
This is obviously a summer house. We stayed here in the windy winter & it felt quite drafty. The fireplace didnât work which was a disappointment as that was one of the drawing cards when we looked at renting this place. The owners were helpful about the heat sources and responded quickly to any message we sent. The soap bottle by the bathroom sink was nearly empty when we arrived and some of the dishes on the cupboards were dirty.. otherwise it was a great place to stay.
Enjoyed the great full view of the lake and the tranquility. House has everything that you need. Saw a turtle making its way to the water. Great space for a family get-together.
This property was perfect for our anniversary getaway! The beds were comfy and the decks were our favorite places to hang out! We had a great time fishing from the dock, actually caught many more fish from the dock than the boat we rented. Hope to make it back again!
So peaceful since we stayed during the week. Exactly the kind of break we needed from everyday life. Kids had a blast and they ranged from 9 mos to 16 years. We spent most of our time on the decks and the kids in the water. The only con about the whole place was no AC in the bedrooms. But my husband and I are used to sleeping in frigid temps in our bedroom at 66 degrees with central air. This was still great! Friendly neighbors as well.
