This hotel is charming because it is a vintage establishment and has a great history of important people staying there. They commemorate these people portraits hanging on the walls. The staff was pleasant enough. The lack of counter space in the bathrooms was kind of a problem, but I looked past this because the rooms were cute and charming. The breakfast was pretty good for being continental.

I loved the history of this building. The rooms were nice, beds comfortable. We were in an end room with multiple windows so had a nice breeze. I would stay here again and recommend it.

It’s a historical hotel and in very good shape. Decoration is elegant and upscale, lots of details. The king bed room I got is a bit small but is cozy and comfortable. Walkable to old town and port. Lots of dining options.

There was humming, machine-type noise so I had to switch rooms and still could hear it. The surrounding area seems run-down and there is limited dining near (the New York Pizza Place - Pauls' was good). The staff were very helpful, but the inn felt dark and not happy - rather like an old dowager that had outlived its time.

Not bad

The hotel was very walkable to downtown, but with all the homeless around, I don't think I felt very safe. Not the hotel's fault. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The hotel was really cool looking, being historic and all, but it really smelled old. Not terrible, just like you old grandmother's basement. The breakfast didn't have a lot of options. But there are a lot of restaurants nearby. There is an outdoor pool, but it was too cold for that. I would probably stay here again. If we were in town.

This hotel is not the "wonderful" it is rated. It is a sad tomb of a forgotten time. The pool was closed, the paint is peeling, the breakfast was really deficient. I was pretty disappointed.

At first arrival, we checked our room and really liked the environment until night when we checked the shower and there was a visible glob of hair on the shower wall. This hair was not ours so it made us second guess the cleanliness of the hotel, although we really wanted to like it.
