Decent property as a base for Redwood hiking, the room got pretty stuffy as soon as it was closed. We managed by opening the windows, which had no mesh, luckily it isn’t mosquito season

Would not recommend. Service: Checked in on a Sunday night. We were hoping to modify our reservation to check out one day early. Ryan at the front desk indicated that while he technically could modify our reservation, we’d have to go through Expedia since we booked with them - sure, not a problem. I talk to an Expedia agent who says yep, we should be able to modify the reservation. They call the Oceanview Inn, speak with Ryan, who says nope, no can do. When I went back to the lobby (still on the night of check-in) to ask Ryan what happened, he became confrontational. The staff here are unwilling to help their guests or make even minor modifications to reservations, even for services that have not and will not be rendered. Location: Convenient location close to the beach, highway, and Redwood National Park. Other than the national park there is very little to do in Crescent City. Not many good restaurant options. Room: Antiquated. Hasn’t been updated in 25 years, uncomfortable bed. The upgraded room we reserved was quite large, however, the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors all night. Also, the fog horn blows every 8 seconds. Walking to & from the room we noticed the hallways smell like strongly of urine.

Great little Mexican Food restaurant just across the road! Great breakfast options and hot drinks available all day in the lobby! Loved the nautical themed decor - beautiful hotel and just a quick drive to the lighthouse for sunset. We really enjoyed our visit to the hotel and Crescent City!

Close to the coast, brewery and playground

This hotel was in a great location for our family - close to the brewery (very kid friendly), near Battery Point Beach for Tide Pools and Beach Front park. The room was comfortable - bedding was a bit outdated but did the job. Sound travels through the long hallways but with the fan in the room, it didn't keep us up. Breakfast was good with a lot of variety. The gal worked hard to keep it all full as it was very busy. Weird seating set-up for breakfast but once we learned there was a back room, it helped with the crowding. Front desk at check-in was fairly helpful. Didn't seem to know the area well. The woman in the morning was less than ideal for a front desk position. All in all, we had a great time and would stay again!

It just seemed in need of an update. Having the sink in the bed area was not good. We heard a lot of noise through our ceiling from the room above. Lot of noise from the roadway outside.

Large Room with a View ...

... of the parking lot. But if you're lucky, the ocean is right there. Enjoyed touring the Redwoods, but too many people everywhere. Room large and comfy except for the awful desk chairs with no padding. Good food except for the Seaside Rest & Inn - bad food and grossly overpriced. Try the Seaquake Bar (of course), Boat House, Good Harvest Cafe, and Seafront Baking Co. for excellent lunch.
