Good for a night

The room was not ready when we arrived as I sort of expected because it was before 3pm. The room was not completely clean there were hairs in the shower and the crumbles in the sofa. I didn’t say anything because it was just a one night stay and I was not feeling good and was super tired. The rooftop is very nice and the room have all the regular necessities needed when you’re traveling. The other plus is the parking if you’re driving and location

This property knew when I checked in that the A/C did not work. They told me that it would be working soon. When I went to my room, it was very warm. I asked the asst. manager to help me solve this issue. They had no plan nor authorization to make this right. I suggested that they purchase a fan, and again, they needed authorization from the GM.who was AWOL. I asked them to contact the GM, and they told me that they had tried and he had not responded. The staff offered me a free dinner and drinks. How does that solve the problem of a hot room? I had to sleep in a hot room with a window open 6". The noise from the main street was loud, as well as a barking dog. The light from the city was bright. Suffice to say, my night at this Hilton was terrible, with not much sleep in the heat. They comped me breakfast, and when I asked to speak to the GM that morning, they informed me that he had not come into work yet. This was a disaster, no plan to assist the customer and an AWOL GM. I should have my room fee refunded.

Mixed. But still high end.

A bit more mixed than I expected. Nice room, great breakfasts, and the breakfast and front desk staff were very friendly and kind. The fridge in the room and coffee maker was very welcome (along with the bottle of water each day and sometimes refreshing the coffee pods). House keeping was hit and miss. Sometimes things happened, sometimes they did not. I picked the hotel because it had a pool and guest laundry. The pool is broken, and the guest laundry seems to have disappeared. I also had some problems with air con - while the hotel says it allows individual control this is not true. The first room I was allocated had the air con locked to off on a 35C day. The second room it was locked to 18C - which was much better but probably too cold for most Europeans in the summer. The outside design is a shame - pedestrians have to go through the car park to get out.

Pros: The location is excellent as it is close to all the main sightseeing in Evora. The staff was super helpful - helped us situate ourselves with a map, and made very helpful suggestions. Breakfast was well done & everyone worked really hard to keep the flow of people going. Cons: The parking lot was full so you had to park on the street which was fine for us but it might not have been for others. The swimming pool was small & a bit crowded so we chose not to use it.
