Never again...cold, dirty, etc ...I don't know how this place can have any good reviews.

My husband & I enjoyed an overnight stay here whilst attending a wedding in the neighbouring village. It is what is is, a pub with rooms above it, we had room 1 & it was more than adequate with nice bed linen, fresh towels & complementary toiletries, but what we enjoyed most was the friendly service & relaxed atmosphere, from the lovely young man who welcomed us on arrival & served behind the bar, to the fabulous gentleman who greeted us at breakfast the next morning, full of morning cheer & happy talk to us while we enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast which sorted us out perfectly after a lovely wedding the night before. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

The pub down stairs is nice then you go upstairs well what can i say needs acomplete revamp carpets fraying wallpaper hanging of and the smell of damp the out side grounds need cleaning

Quite run down and bordering being rated as grubby. Shower room had a small shower with curtain in a corner and no toilet in the room. Paint flaking off the walls. Nasty beer smell from tired carpet in the breakfast area. Had to ask for bath towels.

it was the worst bed I have ever slept in. You could feel the springs in the mattress.

Good value if you get a cheap enough deal and just need a bed for the night. Shared toilet area could be cleaner and many areas could use a good fresh lick of paint. Didn't drink in the pub as it was shut by the time I got back. Although I stated I would noir recommend to a friend, I actually would if they were on a budget.......

Nice pub, lovely food, room was Ok

Beautiful pub but room was Ok. Mattress sooo lumpy and the ensuite had no shower so a bath before work was a treat! It hadn't been hoovered either as there were someone else's toe nail clippings over the carpet at the bottom of the bed. There was no hair dryer and the rad and kettle didn't work. No staff around for brekkie in the morning for the first 10 mins but friendly when they showed up. Was only £30 so was good value. Cheers

Didn’t get to stay with a confirmed reservation

My reservation was confirmed and after confirmation of booking tried to call hotel could not get through at all. As it goes check in is no later then 10pm which was pointed out to me by ebookers as had no choice to call to see what’s going. Anyway ebookers told me to find alternative reservation for the night as it was late they couldn’t get hold of the hotel to. Next day ebookers mange to get hold of the manger at the kings arms asking for possibly honour a refund which has been refused. In today’s world of software technology the reservation shouldn’t have been confirmed. I was stranded with my friend driving from London to Exeter only to find ourselves driving back to London without any rest 6 hrs driving hope the manger now can enjoy the £45:00 that’s he’s worth for humanity.

Pros: the staff
Cons: provide blankets improve grouting in shower
Location: lovely village location not far from A30 and Exeter
Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. Would be helpful to provide extra blankets in the room as the duvet was really a summer one and we didn't find out until too late, so ended up sleeping in my coat.
