Lovely grounds and relaxed atmosphere

Pros: The building, the grounds, the animals, the Landlady, the suite, the breakfast and the availability of tea or something stronger if so required.
Cons: We were perfectly satisfied with our stay.
Location: We took a pleasant rural walk to one of the nearest pubs, the Auberge. It took about 30 minutes or so, passing a beautiful Saxon church on the way.
We stayed here for two nights in July 2017. On arrival we were warmly greeted and given tea and cake in the garden; a garden that stretches out for acres and where horses, rabbits, pheasant and peacocks dwell. A very pleasant setting and a lovely way to start our stay. We were given the suite, which was spacious and comfortable. The Lady of the house is easy-going, fun and unpretentious and made us feel most at home. My favourite part of any trip away, the cooked breakfast, was very good here and was served in the dining room with a view of the garden and grounds. You can tuck into your bacon and eggs and watch horses and peacocks amble by. Really very pleasant. I thoroughly recommend a stay at Thornham Hall.
