We did a couples' trip to Fairbanks for an extended winter weekend. Unfortunately, holiday travel delays forced us to adjust our initial plans and request a change to our stay. Thankfully, the host was accommodating, and our friends were able to check in two days early! Our stay was lovely overall. The property is stunning, with all the amenities you could need. The sleds and snowshoes were a fun bonus that added to the winter experience. Our only issue was with the heat. When our friends arrived, the property had no gas, so there was no heat or hot water on the first night. Thankfully, this was resolved the next day, and the host was very communicative throughout the process. However, due to the home’s concrete structure, it took a long time for the space to warm up. The downstairs became comfortable after a few days, but the upstairs remained chilly and took a long time to warm up. Those staying upstairs had to rely on the radiator nightly to stay warm.Overall, we’d rate our stay 4.5 out of 5 stars due to the heating issue. That said, everything else worked out wonderfully, and we’d recommend this property for a winter getaway!
