Don't rely on customer service or working hot water and gas
When we arrived at the property we got settled in and went to get ready for the night. After getting in the shower we ran out of hot water in less than 2 minutes. I called the property manager who told me to crawl under the house next door and see if the hot water heater had power running to it.
The next morning, I woke up to make some eggs. Little did I know that the gas to the house had been disconnected. I called the property manager who told me that he would try and get there in the next hour or two.
After these two experiences we told the host we would like to check out early. He has a 24 hour cancellation policy and we had booked for 6 nights. He took the keys from the house and told us that he would talk to VRBO about a refund. After we got back home, he told us that he could not accommodate any refund. The host was rude, misleading and his solution was to rent a more expense property of his that had more up to date amenities.
