The front desk clerk, Sarena was very rude. I had called ahead to be sure I could check in at 2 since we were there for a wedding that started at 3. I spoke to a very friendly front desk gentleman on Wednesday evening and he assured it would be fine and said he was going to put a note that our room be cleaned in time for a 2 PM check in. When we arrived, Sarena informed me very rudely that check in wasn’t until 4. I explained I had called and was told that I could. In the meantime, a group of 6 or 7 people arrived after us and instead of finishing with me, she talked over me and was quite rude to the group. She asked if they were there for the wedding and when they said no, she said they couldn’t check in until 4. The lady behind me said her confirmation said 3 and Sarena demanded to see it. All of this while she was supposed to call assisting me. After she turned them away, she said she would check the wedding people in early but didn’t have time to be checking in 7 other rooms. As far as the room, there was mold on the shower curtain. Housekeeping should have Mold Armor to spray on those.

There was a cockroach in my bathroom. I took a Google lens picture to show the front desk and they tried to say it was a beetle. I had the proof and description right there on my phone.

We got to town early so i asked for an early (2pm instead of 4pm)check-in. I could tell from the hello that i was a huge inconvenience to them. She told me my room was not ready and even if it was she would charge me an early check-in fee. Maybe this is policy but i have never heard of it. So we walked the dog a bit...avoid the piles of poop not picked up by other pet owners...and sat in the parking lot waiting for check-in. At 4pm i was told our room was not ready. I dont expect to be put on a pedestal but it was 5 hours after check out time! The room was picked up but the bathroom smelled of urine so im not sure how clean it actually was. I didn't see staff again my stay.

The complimentary appetizers and drinks from 5:30-7:00 were definitely the highlight of this hotel. You just don’t see that anywhere and we travel a lot! Great rustic outdoor decor. The pool was amazing especially for kids with a water slide.

The room was clean and stocked. Pool was clean as well. Breakfast was amazing. We wished the service from staff was better though. It took forever and many follow ups until we got the crib we requested. One of the receptionists that we asked help from seemed like she did not want to help us at all and that we were bothering her. She even made my husband get the crib himself instead of getting someone from the hotel help out.
