We had an amazing 4 night stay at this beautiful home in the perfect location to explore New River Gorge National Park and the charming town of Fayetteville. We loved the spacious bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen and roomy shared spaces. Spent lots of quiet time on the gorgeous porch and back patio where we chilled in the evenings with the fire pit and lanterns. The host went above and beyond to elevate our stay.
9/10 experience! Great location. Very comfortable and spacious for a large family! We had plenty of room to sleep, eat, and relax and lots of clean linens and towels were provided. It is a fun, older home with some quirks that go along with the historic feel to the place so canât give it the full 10 stars. The dishwasher is a very small free-standing unit so larger groups will need to hand-wash most items, and the clothes dryer needed pliers to turn and set the switch during our stay but ran well once we got it going. (Hosts said a repair is in progress so I expect this to be resolved.) The downstairs is on a thermostat and the two upstairs bedrooms each have their own window-vented air conditioners. Also, the driveway is short and very steep, so some people may prefer to park on the street. This might present a difficulty for tenants that need an easy entry. There is some street noise from passing trucks. Overall, it feels like staying in your grandmotherâs clean, welcoming home with lots of character and great decor. Our family immediately felt at home and enjoyed our stay. The kids loved all the board games and the sâmores supplies that were provided. The hosts were amazing and always quick to respond. Would definitely stay again!
We had an amazing 3 night stay here. Would of liked to stay longer as we missed some good hikes. The house had everything we needed. It was comfortable with plenty of space. There was plenty of good literature on the area at the house that was useful when planning activities. With all the houses ammeinaties we never had to go without. CLOSE TO EVERTHING! With such a short stay, it was nice to only spend 10 minutes in the car per activity to get to several amazing hikes and rafting. A short walk to town produced great shops, food, and people. I can't say enough about the experience.
This property was in the middle of everything we wanted to do! Short drives to ALL of the Canyon Rim features of NRG NP. You can walk to everything in Fayetteville from this property (although we drove to a few because of rain). The property is an old house but very well maintained and described very well on the listing. It was perfect for our family of 5. Kitchen is stocked with almost any utensil, pot/pan, or spice you'll need. Plenty of books and board games for a rainy day. Lots of info on NRG, Fayetteville, and the surrounding area also available. Pluses: Excellent communication with the owner. Temps were comfortable and easy to control. Front and back porches are decorated and prepped to be inviting and relaxing. Full bathroom in each bedroom. Minuses: Very little. We had no need to contact the owner with any issue. Parking spot is tight if you want to turn your vehicle around - backing in (or out) may be necessary with a minivan. Thanks for a great stay!
We had everything we needed for our weekend get away. The beds were comfortable and the home was clean and comfy. The bathrooms were small and toiletries were not provided but they were clean and the water pressure in the shower was great and the hot water didnât run out. The parking was off street but not sure more than one or two cars could fit. The decor in this home is so cute. Think 60âs and 70âs with a bit of Boho thrown in. There are a few things that would improve the renters experience, but overall, I would recommend a stay here.
We had a wonderful time here when we visited New River Gorge with our kids. The location is convenient and easy to find, the house is spacious and comfortable, and the host is responsive and made every aspect of our stay easy peasy. Highly recommend visiting Fayetteville and staying here when you do.
We loved the place. It was very comfortable and the added touch of some treats was a happy surprise. Its location is perfect and the decor is adorable. We couldnât figure out some of the lights and the main level bathroom has a bit of a sewer smell. Other than that, I would recommend to anyone. Meeko, the friendly neighborhood cat came and visited a few times outside, as well.
My family of four (2 adult children) wanted a long weekend away. We spent several days hiking and exploring the New River Gorge National Park, eating good food in Fayetteville, and just hanging out. The house is amazing and large enough we all had our own space. The park is a 5 min drive, and shops and restaurants in town are all walking distance. Highly recommend!
While there were a few hiccups during the weekend, this home is well stocked, clean, and in a great location. The host was responsive and helpful. I recommend this property.
We had a group of friends stay and enjoyed our weekend. Location was perfect for exploring downtown Fayetteville and driving to do New River Gorge activities. The house is older and has some quirks but we knew that going in and it didnât bother us. It added character to the trip. We would stay here again!
Definitely would stay again. Very clean, comfortable beds, eclectic decor which made our stay fun. Our host was quickly responsive to any questions we had . Appreciated the outdoor fireplace!
The house is in a great location so much to do in walking distance. The decor of the house was so cool. They had a sâmore basket out for you. Definitely would come back.
Our family of 5 had a terrific time exploring Fayetteville and the surrounding. Many stores and restaurants are within walking distance and NRGNP is a 5 minute drive.
The house was as described and had lots of room to spread out. Itâs clean and had everything we needed. The owner was easy to contact and quick to respond.
