This home is located on a large pond/small lake that doesnât have a lot of other properties on it so itâs super quiet. The house has a very cool 1950âs retro vibe but has all the modern amenities you would need for your stay. It can sleep up to 8 comfortably but we were only 4 for most of our stay. We had 2 visitors who used the pull out sofas one night. They said they were comfortable for a pull out. The 2 beds in the bedroom were very comfortable. Linda has thought of everything and the property is quite big. Iâve also never had such a thorough tour and greeting from Becky the property manager who was very kind. We didnât spend a lot of time at the property bc we were visiting family on Laurel lake but we did do a kayak tour on the pond one morning and it was really zen. Only thing to know here is that the water has a ton of minerals and you can see and smell it but I have a feeling we were the first guests this year and they are working on it. They provided 2 cases of water bottles which was great bc we didnât know about the water but I recommend bringing some large water containers as those little bottles are terrible for the environment. The house was spotless and thereâs ACâs for your comfort but honestly we didnât need them it was cool at night. This isnât a high end house itâs a cottage meant for getting away and it didnât disappoint. Lots of boats to use as well. I recommend highly. Linda the owner is very responsive and accommodating as well.
Sportsman's Pond and Blueberry Cottage provided the ideal location for disconnecting from the noise and busyness of every day life. The pond was beautifully serene, without outboard motors, jet skis, etc. The fall colors were gorgeous. The hosts provided every sort of watercraft one might want. I kayaked everyday exploring the shoreline and watching for birds. The cottage was well equipped, the bed was comfortable and an assortment of chairs and couches were available for lounging, viewing the lake and simply reading or napping. There was plenty of hot water. Floor heaters were provided to counter the fall temperatures. Bottled water was in ample supply for those who prefer a non-mineral taste.
We returned home refreshed, relaxed and revitalized.
Blueberry Cottage is the perfect place to unwind by the lake. The cottage was well stocked and equipped with everything you could possibly need. So much to do right on the property. We enjoyed the kayaks, canoe and fishing right off the private dock. We enjoyed bonfires every night and really appreciated having firewood there and ready to use. We will surely be back!
The scenery and ambiance of the property won us over right away. Slept on the veranda with the windows open, listening to the wildlife and waking to the views of the lake. Was a great place, sorry it was so chilly in the morningsâŠcanât do much about the weather :)
Linda was wonderful in her review of the property and was very accommodating in all aspects of our stay. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable including the mattress. We enjoyed the lake and a little fishing. The area is very nice and we did some exploring. It was very quiet and we rarely even saw anyone while we were on the lake. We hope to return in the spring or summer. Many thanks to Linda and Brad
We were looking for a private retreat in the NH woods
The description in Vrbo matched what we found & other than the rain we had a great time. We spent a good deal of our time out on the water in the provided kayaks, floats, motor boats & swimming. The water will appear brown but it is clear. It is this color because of the type of tree rooots that ring this very large pond that is only 10 ft deep. Lots of fish! We saw a bald eagle, heron, heard loons. Very private, never saw anyone else. Great basecamp for hiking, biking, going to restaurants. Several nearby towns have movies, libraries, groceries & laundromat. Limited shopping for gifts.
We would go back!
We stayed here 4 nights and loved it. We basically had the lake to ourselves the entire time, and we were there on labor day. If you're looking for fishing, kayaking, grilling, time in the woods, and relaxing ... it doesn't get better than this.
Brad and Linda were wonderful hosts as well.
Overall our stay was pleasant, fun amenities for yard and water. They had it all. Cottage stocked with all items you may need to cook at home. Bedrooms very comfortable. Hosts very accommodating with our pets.
We had an amazing time with our puppy. Fishing, motor boat, kayaking. Perfect weather. Home was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed the outdoors, views and fire pit. Linda and Brad are gracious hosts. We WILL be back if you want to enjoy the out doors. This is a must.
We left the next day and returned to our beautiful well kept backyard and home that provided much comfort. This is the first time weâve been disappointed with VRBO it was totally disgusting
Great location if you wanted a quiet lake and outdoors. Brad and Linda were great and thought of every amenity required on a vacation. Will be back again.
Private wooded shady retreat camp with good fishing and very kind hosts. If your going to fish for bass firetiger colors brighter the better even for soft plastic twitch baits.
We will define visit again. The kids had a blast, the cabin was stocked with every amenity possible and the pond was peaceful. Brad and Linda are incredible hosts!
Second Visit in Three Months and We'll Be Back Again!
You won't meet lovelier hosts or stay at a more calm and peaceful place anywhere! Such a hidden gem of a spot. Just into New Hampshire, we didn't have to travel far from Mass, yet we got every good thing NH has to offer! The foliage was at its peak. It was BEAUTIFUL! We kayaked and rowboated. We campfired. We put cushions all over the dock and watched the sunset and then waited for wildlife to come out. We ate at Emma 321 and were delighted! We shopped at the Shed Barn Thrift Shop and the Dollar General and had a blast, meeting friendly and interesting people at every turn. This sweet little cabin has everything you need and more. We went in July, then October, and we can't wait for our next visit!!! 5 million thumbs up for this place and her wonderful and gracious hosts. :)
A peaceful cottage by the water. A great spot for kayaking, fishing and canoeing. The cottage is very well equipped and activities for rainy days. The beds and seating are comfortable. The view from the porch is nice.
This is an extraordinary place to stay. Plenty of room for a couple like us and our dog. It Is very clean, well furnished, especially in the kitchen, has an excellent view of the lake, and is set in a beautiful rural landscape. We were provided with many boats to use. Our favorite was the large rowboat, which we could use to tour the lake whenever we wanted to. Our hosts lived nearby, but protected our privacy, yet were always available when we needed them. We strongly recommend this cabin for people who want a real country place with real privacy.
Brad and Linda are wonderful hosts. They were very welcoming and promptly answered any questions that we had. They were very thorough when explaining all of the amenities the place had to offer and I would definitely stay there again! The location is absolutely beautiful and a very nice home away from home.
