The location is great. The check in process is very thoughtful and caring as they take time to map your location and points of interest. They really compensate for being a 2 star hotel with their customer service. Being in the historic district, they can’t have modern amenities like an elevator and other conveniences. If you’re staying in the heat of the summer, don’t leave your screenless windows open overnight, the mosquitoes will eat you alive.
Very conveniently located and close to everything! Staff were incredibly helpful. Apartment was spacious, clean, and mostly quiet (there were some nights where there were loud people walking around). Highly recommend!
We really liked the location; it was quieter and less hectic but still close to all the main sites.
The staff were lovely and friendly. The concierge sat down with us when we arrived with a map and showed us where the main attractions and several family style restaurants. The breakfast had many options and all the cappuccino you wanted.
The hotel is a historic building and gives easy access to all the main attractions, restaurants etc. We had great communication from the hotel and all staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. Shower was smaller than usual, but had good water pressure and maintained a stable temperature.
Would definitely stay here again if we return to Florence.
Staff are incredibly helpful. Gabriel and Mario do a great job running this hotel. We notified them about a leaking shower hose and it was fixed the same day.
The owners of this hotel were exceptionally nice. Very warm, helpful, kind. The location is right in the middle of everything. The building is a historic building from the 1400’s Is it a luxury hotel? No, it is a place to sleep and explore from or return to for a nap without having to take a taxi.
But the staff made you feel cared for. I would definitely stay here again.
We loved this small, but super convenient hotel. The staff: amazing, friendly and super helpful. Walked everywhere from here and super safe area. Will definitely recommend it too all of our friends and family. Very basic, but exactly what you need to stay in this amazing city.
Great experience! We stayed in the 4 person room with my two small children and it was perfect. Spacious, clean, comfy beds, bet convenient to everything. Very welcoming and helpful staff.
I can't say enough good things about our stay at the Hotel Santa Croce. The staff was very welcoming and informative. The history of the hotel itself was fascinating. Our breakfasts in the morning were delicious. The location was perfect for us. Thank you so very much for such an awesome visit!
We stayed in the darling annex apartment. Upon check-in, the staff offered a welcome drink, took us outside to point out the notable historical landmarks in the neighborhood, and made us feel at home. They were gracious and practiced the art of hospitality. We look forward to staying at H. Santa Croce again!
Hotel staff was wonderful and the property is in a convenient location for exploring Florence. Our only issue was the room A/C was not cool enough given the weather (it was 100 F).
Would absolutely love to revisit this hotel in any other season
Staying at this historic hotel was a memorable experience! While it lacks the amenities of a modern hotel (as we expected), we appreciated the charming glimpse into history it provided. The location was superb, and the staff were lovely and attentive, adding many small extra touches that made our stay special.
During the period of PITTI UOMO, good accommodation for me. It takes 20 min by walk to go to the event and there are many nice restaurants. Also supermarket, Conad.
This time I selected a type of apartment style that was good for me to cook and stay as my home.
Front staff were good for the guests. I’ll book next my trip here.
This is a clean hotel with lovely staff. It is also in a very beautiful area of Florence. The rooms are modest in size and furnishings. Also you should note that there is no elevator. If you are looking for a very well kept hotel and OK with a small room this is your place.
I can’t say enough positives about this place. The people are so kind and helpful. Location is fantastic and local restaurants are outstanding. We will be back! 💕
Excellent small hotel right in the center of Florence. Mario and Gabriel are the best hosts you can ever imagine!!
The shower is the only setback::: it’s very small. But the breakfasts are huge and delicious.. and the Cappuccino….
We stayed at the apartment room adjacent from the hotel. The room was spacious and in good condition. The staff was always super helpful and welcoming. Great place to stay in the historical center.
A family run business. Very clean hotel and attentive staff. Only downside was being on the third floor and no lift. Other than that it was a great place to stay. Internet worked well. Gabriel makes a mean coffee.
2 Brothers running a hotel. We weren’t expecting much from a little hotel in Florence but when we walked in we were greeted by 2 of the nicest hosts we’ve ever come across in our travels. They will make sure you have coffee, they will make sure you have a great day ahead of you. No itinerary? They have a map with all the main spots and are happy to encourage you to see the city.
No dinner plans? They know a couple good spots for you to check out.
Overall they were kind and warm and made us feel like they wanted us to have a good time. They could be ambassadors and in fact I thought of them as such.
The hotel is located next Michelangelo’s childhood home ( 1 for history)
While the rooms are small they are clean and comfortable (who stays in bed all day in Florence anyway?)
You’re in the heart of the city so anywhere you wanted to go is 20 minutes walking.
Unless you want to splurge for a “fancier” hotel because you can, LOOK NO FURTHER.
TLDR:
Great Location, Even Better Staff
