Very cute and comfortable clean property there just werenât really enough supplies/towels/dishes etc for everyone. Only 3 towels and 2 washcloths total for 5 people staying 3 nights. Only one sponge to wash dishes and it was very old dirty and smelly. No extra trash bags and only a couple bowls for example. Also both of the door alarms go off randomly at all hours every time there is a breeze or the house shifts at all or you even touch the door at all which is very frustrating and scared us very badly every time. Other than this I would recommend this property as it was a great place to stay.
Great location for exploring Olympic NP sites near Forks. WE did La Push, Rialto and Sol Duc with ease from this location. The house is spacious with comfortable beds and furniture. We even came home to a heard of Elk in the back yard, EXCITING.The kitchen is lacking in many supplies if you are looking to cook at home including cutting boards, foil, prep bowls/salad bowls ( we had to use pot for serving). There was ONE dish towel though no dishwasher and no way to dry dishes as part of house rules of cleaning all dishes before we left so that was bit of bummer but we used paper towels etc. There was a ton of cob webs and dust bunnies but overall nothing overtly gross or messy just a note for future.THe property managers were SUPER responsive when reaching out for the house code.To note it is WILD when you even touch the doorknow when it is locked from the inside and try to open by accident a very annoying alarm goes off VERY easily. Maybe a way to turn this off? Overall we would stay again but these are things that would make the property more stars:)
This rental is so cute and perfect. We will stay here again. Sent host a message about early check in and got a response right away. Thanks for a great stay
This rental was well located to spots we wanted to visit along the coast and Hoh. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen could really use a few more basic supplies (like an ice cube tray, plastic wrap, wine glasses and cutting board) It was odd that there were canning supplies, but only a few plates.
We had a nice stay with a good location for adventures in Olympic National Park. Only complaint would be we needed one more chair to sit all 4 at the table and could use more mugs and bowls.
This home is in downtown Forks. Easy to find and great place to stay for exploring Olympic National Park. The home is older and definitely isnât the cleanest Iâve stayed in, but it was ok. It worked for us. You have to do more for cleanup when leaving than other VRBOs, but I guess the bonus is you arenât charged a cleaning fee.
We didnât like the house, and the odor was unpleasant. Low, dark ceilings in 1970âs styled rooms with primarily brown furniture. I usually enjoy indirect lighting as it gives a coziness to a space but the musty yellow bulbs seemed to worsen this space. This property is billed as a home-base for Olympic National Park adventures, but there is no washer and dryer. For my family, access to a washer and dryer is a primary reason for using VRBO. It was disclosed in a discrete way in the listing, but it came to a surprise to us when we arrived after 3 days in the park with muddy clothes in desperate need of a washer and dryer. We stay often in VRBOs, and we have never been to a property with no washer and dryer. For my family, this house was a dreary mistake, though some may not mind it. For the money, much much better can be had in Forks in my opinion. This would be a better review if the property was listed at a much lower nightly rate.
Great location to visit beaches. Could have been cleaner. We were asked to remove our shoes in the house and noticed our socks were dirty from walking on the floors. The bathroom ceiling fan was full of lint and had a spider hanging from it. Kitchen could be updated and not enough light in the living room to read. Beds were comfortable. Also noticed a smell in the large sofa. Smelled of urine.
The property itself is okay. The bed or the mattress topper is old, so you're sleeping in two troughs with a mountain between you. Cleanliness was hit or miss... the shower was clean, but there are cobwebs above it, and the ceiling is close... only 7 feet, so the cobwebs are close. The linens were clean. The kettle was very greasy and the bowls, cups and flatware were definitely not clean, but we could wash them before using. The worst part was that two of the nights there was a PLANNED power outage that we were NOT notified about. My husband uses a CPAP machine. We managed through the first night and let the host know everything came back online successfully, but then it happened again the next night. A neighbor told us it was planned. Had we known, we'd have made other arrangements for the CPAP. Needless to say, this is something that SHOULD have been communicated to us.
Home is a little old and dated but very clean and comfortable. An update to the lighting would go a long way, home felt a bit dark everywhere but the bathroom. Bedrooms were very roomy and home was well stocked as far as dishes/utensils and bathroom supplies. Host was very quick to respond to messages. Kids loved the huge back yard.
My family and I enjoyed our stay here! We loved the proximity to multiple places in Olympic NP and the house had a lot of space. I did feel like a lot of the things in the house were outdated and there were a lot of spider webs near the front porch and in other nooks around the house, but overall we enjoyed our stay and we would come back again if we find ourselves looking for a place to stay in Forks.
