My husband and I decided to stay here to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. We have had a hard couple of years losing loved ones and whatnot and we knew we needed a place to get away from it all, rest, relax, recharge, and reconnect. This place was the absolute perfect place for that. The cottage reminded us so much of our first home together.. quaint and vintage. It's a very simple cabin with minimum distractions. A small tv with at tops 10 channels (no problem for me but my husband, a self proclaimed sports addict, had a hard time adjusting to being without ESPN for 5 days!), basic furniture, and a simple kitchen. This was exactly what we were looking for. The view is absolutely amazing. The location is perfect. We were really impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was, not only with utensils and whatnot, but also with paper plates, paper towels, etc. We felt very much at home in this cottage. We enjoyed all of our meals on the screened porch, lighting candles and enjoying wine in the evening while playing music listening to the waves. We ventured out into Mexico Beach and tried a few places as well as a few restaurants in Port St. Joe. Toucans is subpar (great for drinks, not so much for food), Killer Seafood is amazing (it is super busy so get there early or do like we did and call it in for take out), Sunset Grille is delicious (a little pricey but well worth every penny), and a small mexican restaurant in downtown Port St. Joe was an excellent place to go for lunch (just to break up the day and take a break from seafood!) The beach was a bit crowded being Mothers Day weekend but during the week, there was maybe 2 other people out each day. It felt like our own private beach! The only downfall of the cabin (if you even consider it one) was the master bed. It is a full so it is somewhat smaller than what we were used to (however, the rooms are small so that's about as big a bed that the room can accommodate). It was also a bit firmer than we prefer and it did not have a comforter or heavy blanket on it. After being really cold the first night, we pulled the comforter off one of the twin beds and we were fine. None of those are big deals, just come prepared with a heavier blanket. Overall, this trip was excellent, the cottage was great, and the beach was wonderful. My husband and I have been together for 6 years now and we love to travel. That being said, this was, by far, our favorite vacation we have ever had. We were able to relax, read a
