Wow. Amazing location - So close to the entertainment Gatlinburg brings! It took us a few minutes to drive into downtown. The property is spectacular and in top notch condition - high in the mountains, the perfect getaway! We saw a bear at the top of the driveway. So cool. Canât wait to come back!
Everything was wonderful! We enjoyed our stay and the owner' communication/response time was second to none. It was the perfect place to escape to for a few days with family and enjoy nature and the black bears.
We had a great time staying at the cabin in the mountains! Owner gave a great tip to make sure we arrived during daylight to assure we could find the cabin. Road to cabin was very windy and steep! Not a lot of seating in living room for a family of 5, all adults, but we made it work. Location is great for downtown Gatlinburg or GSMNP.
My husband, daughter, and I along with my parents enjoyed a two night stay here. The property was perfect for our needs and Brennan was incredibly responsive to questions. The house is conveniently located to do both Gatlinburg and the National Park. We would stay here again.
This place has a very cute setup. Clean, cozy and comfortable. It was raining during our stays and the sounds of the rain hitting the window made it more relaxing.Short distance to downtown Gatlinburg .
We were aware going into this that we booked a mountain cabin in the dead of winter (late Jan) but we feel that this cabin is ill equipped to host wintertime guests. It snowed several inches before we got there, and although the roads were clear in all NC/TN, the driveway was a sheet of ice. This was a HUGE issue because the driveway is an extremely steep hill with the house at the bottom. Even walking down it was treacherous when we arrived. Thankfully, after contacting the host, he was able to send a maintenance man to salt the driveway and that helped a lot, we just felt that this should have been done prior to guests arriving since there is only room for 1 car to park at the top of the driveway & carry luggage down. Hot water would only last long enough for a 3-5 minute shower. We were not given enough towels for our group. We asked for extra but they never arrived, thankfully one of us brought her own. One of the kitchen outlets was visibly burnt and none in the kitchen worked. The maintenance man stated that were no GFI outlets in the kitchen (which is required by building code) and it likely caused the issues. Finally, the cabin was not completely clean or âfully stockedâ as advertised. The kitchen has limited utensils, no shampoo was provided (despite the listing saying it specifically), there was dirt on the floor, and the upstairs bathroom sounds like it has a leak although we couldnât find it. It was a very cute cabin and we had higher hopes that didnât pan out.
The property was good for our group of 5 family members. We did have to leave early on the last full day as a winter storm warning was calling for 8-10 inches of snow in the mountains. We did have an AWD vehicle but the steep driveway & switchbacks were a concern for getting down the mountain safely. Temps were going to be in the single digits.also for several days. Nice rental, just keep an eye on the weather.
It could use some updates , hot water runs out quick . Patio door doesnât lock , super loud and knocking upstairs bathroom fan . Short window BlindsSteep drive way But overall good condition.
We had a lovely stay.
The home was as listed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Definitely a revisit when we are up in the area.
Youâre less than 10 minutes away driving distance from downtown.
Sadly, the reviews/rating and title were very miss leading
The reviews/rating and title were very miss leading.
Downstairs toilet plugged. We cleared it but no cleaning products to clean toilet.
Laundry soap was spilled on the top of the washer and around the washer on the floor.
Only one hotel size âsampleâ soap in each bathroom. Per host âonly intended to get you startedâ. No soap in showers.
No kitchen dish soap for hand washing dishes, just soap for the dishwasher.
Kitchen garbage had not been taken out.
Last occupant did not turn off the Mr. Coffee Maker. It was left turned on. Burnt coffee in carafe. FIRE HAZZARD.
Freezer had water leak and frozen water under the ice maker.
Chandelier in main room had 3-4 lights burnt out of the 6 lights in fixture. Bathroom also had burnt out light bulb.
All beds VERY soft/worn and all bed creaked. MODERN?
Back sliding door NO lock just a stick placed to prevent opening. Track filthy.
I cannot recommend this Vrbo. What is the host referring to when says âfully stockedâ?
It did not have basic essentials we have found as staples at other Vrbos.
Conveniently located near many main attractions, this is a cute and comfortable place to stay and feels quiet and private. With space to enjoy coffee on the porch and watch nature and also room to gather inside for chatting and playing games, this was a perfect pick for our girls' trip!
Only stayed one night so we didn't have a ton of time to check it out. AC was barely keeping it cool but did manage to keep it at 76 degrees. Not very well stocked so bring shampoo and conditioner with you. All in all was just fine and we did see some bears at the neighboring property. Host was responsive and very nice and let us check in early which was great.
We loved staying at this beautiful cabin in the woods. It is very close to Gatlinburg which was so convenient. Cabin was very clean and just as described and pictured. We loved the big deck. Host was quick to respond when I asked a question. Had zero issues. Would highly recommend.
This cabin was very comfortable and served our purposes. It is very important to heed the advice of the owner to arrive in daylight. Due to some transportation issues, we were running late, and made the decision to go to the cabin before dinner. We were VERY happy we did.
Cozy, comfortable, and beautiful. Communication with owner was great and seamless. Fully equipped home with a gorgeous view. Nestled in the woods yet still close to town. Our family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves without incident.
Hi Brennen, it was ok. As you know and thanks for the discount, fireplace would have been nice, beds need attention, driveway a tad steep but not sure what you can do. But enjoyed our stay. đ
We got to the cabin after dark, lights were left on or had motion sensor which was great. Everything inside was exactly what we expected and saw in the photos. Nice newer appliances, gas fireplace was awesome. Minutes away from Gatlinburg, the The Chalet Village market was close and had all we needed.
2022 was the year of my long road-trip 3000+ miles ( Iâm from the uk ) The Smoky Mountains were one of the stops en-route and for the 1st couple of nights I stayed in a motel in Gatlinburg but just knew to make my experience complete I needed to experience a cabin in the woods. It was a bit tricky navigating all the different sites and advice via local Facebook sites, especially as being a single traveler I didnât really want to be paying for a family sized cabin! anyway after much toâing and froâing I settled upon Donât worry Bear Happy and from the moment I opened the front door till the moment I reluctantly left the experience was everything and more I dreamt it to be, I felt safe even at night stood out on the porch watching the raging thunderstorm perform overhead, I sat and relaxed in the evenings and watched Netflix before going to bed in one of the most comfy beds of my whole journey, In fact I loved it so much it was a struggle to actually leave it during the day to venture out to explore Cades Cove and Dollywood ( Both wonderful by the way ) The communication between myself and the owner of the cabin was easy, quick and non-intrusive and I saw the all important bear .. more than once .. although I was aware of how important it was to respect nature and to make sure I didnât encourage bears to the cabin in case they go on to become a nuisance and have to be destroyed so I watched safely and quietly from a distance. All in all my time spent at this wonderful cabin will remain the highlight of my month spent in America and most probably the highlight of any coming time spent in America in years to come.
